Quoting from directly above you rule.

I realize this started off as a Modee thing, but since he's gone maybe it can be amended.

I'm use to always quoting when I'm replying to a post on forums, whether it's directly above me or not. The reason I do this is two-fold. First there's absolutely no confusion as to who I'm talking to. Second and most importantly is this way if the person edits their post (or deletes it) then my post is not suddenly out of context.

I didn't notice the quoting rule until I saw Greenbean edit a few of my posts. There was no explanation, but I figured it out.

Recently I responded to the post directly above mine and I didn't quote. Later that person deleted their post and now mine is out of context.

Thoughts?

LMAO! LOL

That was me that deleted the post, I felt your response to my post made about as much sense as the that actual thread did.

Here is that strange thread...

Yes, that was the thread.

Whether you believe it's a good thread or not, the same thing could happen in any thread.

It's either an issue in general or it's not.

And if you delete your post in this thread, then this post won't make a lick of sense either. :FF:

Hi Foster!

Your are 100% right.

How about a compromise? We can "Post Quote" an actual sentence we are responding to instead of quoting the whole post like I did on this post.

How about it GreenBean?

I could live with that.

I agree with the above.

Just don't quote the whole post above you, because it's redundant.

Werfella 08-04-2009 01:31 PM

thats a good compromise... i agree
