| | | | | BlackLion | 01-11-2017 04:42 PM | Do you make more money than a college graduate? As stated above, have any of you here surpassed the annual amount a successful college graduate makes annually?
By far, one of the biggest advantages to going to college is that you’ll be qualified for more high-paying jobs in most fields. While this doesn’t always hold true, college grads do, on average, make a lot more money than workers who just have a high school diploma. In fact, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, the annual salary average differences between educational levels is staggering:
High school drop outs: $18,734
High school graduates: $27,915
College grads (with a bachelor’s degree): $51,206
Advanced degree holders: $74,602
That means, over the course or working 40 years, someone with a high school diploma will make $1,116,600 while someone with a bachelor’s degree will make $2,048,204. That’s nearly a million dollars more! Keep in mind also that these statistics are as of 2004.

Also, I get to have an easy life.
I am sitting here in bed working/earning with a can of beer and a joint in one hand and laptop in other hand whilst watching tv :)
Ironically, wolf of wall st. is on tv right now. |

What are you making?
It is akin to being mosey if you can not be bothered to share your own experiences.

Re: Do you make more money than a college graduate? Your 40 year calculations are grossly underestimated as salaries will be far higher in 40 years time. |

With that being said though, I'm making a lot more working for myself than I would be making if I were working for Cisco or Google. |

I'm saying having a salary of $10,000 a month in 2066 is not necessarily more than getting paid $1000 a month in 2016, when both amounts are converted into 2016 dollars by factoring in inflation rates incurred over the next 50 years.
(This an arbitrary example with arbitrary rates used) |

:amen: | I just contributed to the thread, lol. You asked, and i replied with $100usd weekly, which isn't hard to believe, so the moral of the story is that i do NOT make more than a college graduate YET. |
| yankee | 01-14-2017 01:13 PM | Re: Do you make more money than a college graduate? I think all business owners can easily far and away exceed a wage earner. This thread is just ridiculous. Nearly impossible for a wage earner to get ahead in life and escape the rate race. A higher wage earner as a vast majority rule just have higher expenses and debt. The only option for a wage earner to escape the round and round tail chase of money is to invest VERY AGGRESSIVELY, start a business, have a rich uncle who passes on inheritance or win the lottery. LOL |
| oompaloompa | 01-14-2017 01:53 PM | Re: Do you make more money than a college graduate? alot/most young people are college graduates nowadays in UK anyway, depends what calibre subject, what college and what grade you got.....not enough graduate jobs out there anyway....they are waiting tables and working regular low grade jobs in shops while they wait for years to find a job, or go up through management where they are....
I will be advising my kids, when they are alot older, to graduate, work for a few years to get some business sense and street /work/social sense, and then I will buy them a business or give them the money to start one....I already have the money ear-marked in their own named accounts now...... |

I'm sure you'd prefer to take $100 weekly working from home than $100 weekly working at Mcdonalds. |
Re: Do you make more money than a college graduate? I created 10 accounts. The last account hit 90 days old on Christmas eve. I'm already netting over a thousand a week which would put me over 52,000 a year. The problem I have is there isn't enough time in a day to do what I need to do to keep growing. I made the mistake of doing 30 day listings. You have to start with good to cancel or you waist all your time relisting. The big dollar items I have in bulk I set on 7 day listings to keep them moving. But switching ips and relisting them takes too much time. I have to figure out how to better automate this thing some how. The sky is the limit. Time is the factor... |
| Rhonda | 01-18-2017 06:28 AM | Re: Do you make more money than a college graduate? My husband is a high school dropout but makes as much as a college graduate. Even though a degree does not promise you a decent salary, knowledge and the college life experience is still yours to keep for life. So I'm totally in for high education. |
| florea_cioaca | 01-19-2017 05:06 AM | Re: Do you make more money than a college graduate? I am making $0 currently but I plan on surpassing a college graduate in about a year. I think it is very doable in my country as the average income for someone that is a college graduate is around 1000 EUR a month (~1200 USD).
I just need to find the right niche then I'm going to start. |

| vogeltron | 02-14-2017 04:10 AM | Re: Do you make more money than a college graduate? Some years I make more and less. As long as I can keep the lights on and not take on any debt I will continue to sell online full time. When I graduated college I took a job and had to commute a couple hours each day it just wore me out. To live in that city costs and arm and leg even more than where I am at now that only costs an arm and half a leg. So I went back to selling online full time.
As long as I can keep this going I enjoy the freedom the most. Plus I am not one for office or company politics. |
Re: Do you make more money than a college graduate? That commute of few hours is insane - I deal with an hour or so in the evening and 20 min in the morning (because I leave for the gym way too early before work). Friday during a snowstorm, the drive in the evening took about 2h 15 min |

I've been working for 17 years and I'm sick of all the crap. This year I plan to leave my perfectly good full time job to make my own money online. Any advice? |
