Being dropshipped

I've been getting a decent number of orders from 3 dropshipper Ebay accounts run by the same person.

I'd like to figure out where they're selling my products so I can block them and sell there instead. They're obviously making some kind of profit by selling for more.

But how would one figure this out?

Re: Being dropshipped

Good luck with that.
Id concentrate on my own business instead.
If you insist though try google.

Re: Being dropshipped

Will try a google search.

Worded this wrong. I'll be staying on Ebay, but want to swallow the business they're doing on this other platform.

Re: Being dropshipped

If they are making you money I would let them continue, hard to wipe them out if they are selling on their own site.

Be careful of triangulation fraud -google it.

Edit. If you require a phone number for orders you could give it a call, unless the buyer is using their number ( repeated phone number on different orders).

Re: Being dropshipped

True, own site wouldnt be worth it! Would have liked being contacted asking if they could resell my products somewhere else. Kinda sleazy. Stuff is hard to source so almost certain they're reselling them for more to make a profit.

Re: Being dropshipped

I have a series of sellers who regularly send us dropship orders. One guy sends us a list daily via email and I email him back with tracking numbers + a PP invoice.

I understand where you're coming from in regards to potential lost profits, but personally I welcome dropshippers with open arms. They're a godsend. They help me increase my buying power with my supplier without me having to deal with all the customer service of dealing with their buyers.

To each their own though man, lol

Hmm. Will have to reflect on this.

Re: Being dropshipped

Outside of jet, wish, (denied by walmart) could there be other platforms they could be using?

I've seen websites that sweep thousands of Ebay listings but redirect you back to ebay, so those aren't it, unless there are some that auto up prices.

Re: Being dropshipped

Mercari comes to mind since that's the last "other" platform I messed with. eBay is another good possibility but I'm sure you've looked into that. Maybe they have their own site like scissors hands said. :noidea:

I'd reach out to the seller directly who is sending you these orders to see if you can reach some sort of agreement with them. If you could work out a way for them to start sending you orders directly (outside of eBay) you could increase profit margins for both of you while also boosting sales volume.

If it's rare, it shouldn't be too hard to find.

I'd also contemplate how much more money I stood to make, before I put too much effort into any of this.

Re: Being dropshipped

I LOVE wholesale buyers!

The idea of killing your diversified cashflow is a bit insane. The more people selling your items, the better.

I would shoot them an email and make arrangements. Let them make MORE money and they will be buying more. You have less web risk and more sale exposure.

It is quite possible they are reselling right back on ebay. I would say at least 10% of my largest volume category on ebay resells right on ebay.

Re: Being dropshipped

Hm. Skip out on fees, never considered that.

Idk, if they're selling for like $10 more a pop they're mine.

Re: Being dropshipped

The way I look at it in my very crowded niche is this : I may be accepting a slightly lower profit margin by accepting dropship orders, but if the dropshipper's listing were to go down there's no guarantee the buyer would choose to buy from my listing instead. Which is reitterating what yankee just said, I guess. The more people who have your stuff listed the higher the chances are that you'll ultimately get a sale, directly or indirectly.

So, unless you're the only person selling your items, what's the point of reducing your visibility? If this dropshipper is buying straight from your eBay listing then clearly you're alright with the price they're paying, because they're paying the price on your listing. You could raise your price by $10 or whatever this guy's margin is, if you're jelly.

It seems that you assume you can capture 100% of the market yourself. Even if you do find the other platform, why not sell wholesale anyways? If dominating 100% of a market was possible, Amazon would not have 3rd party sellers and Walmart would be the only box store.

I asked someone yesterday on this forum, would they give up half their business if they made 5x as much.

That same question comes to mind on this thread :)

Re: Being dropshipped

These guys are def dropshipping so more than likely not interested in handling product themselves.

Wholesale is nice for increased exposure, depending if they're consuming or reselling. I'll agree there.

Idk. You are front and center when controlling your own product on more platforms. That's where rebranding and remarketing the same product comes in. You benefit from selling more from increased exposure on various outlets. Screw the middleman.

Found em... they're selling for a lot more. This should be interesting.

Try triple.... LMAO

Re: Being dropshipped

And why aren't you selling for closer to that price?

Don't take it the wrong way, I'm not meaning to be offensive. I still don't understand why you'd want to run this person off though when they're debatably beating you at your own game. :noidea:

As soon as I figured out what was going on I'd be reaching out to them trying to get them to send their dropship orders directly so we could keep it off of eBay or whatever platform they're buying from you on.
