Ive tried this before and made like $10+ in silver years back when it was low in a hour. You basically get a $500 1000 coin half dollar box ordered from your bank (Usually limited 2 per bank per month). Can of course make different orders at different banks. Then you unroll from the end & look for shiny silver! Reroll and deposit the rolls at a different bank.
Do a little research and youll see its the ones per-1970s
Id like to possibly give this another go. Id imagine theres still some in circulation, but maybe less. If I could open accounts at 5-10 banks this might be worthwhile. Im thinking of eBay as a sales outlet for my coins. If youve read any of my other threads you know Im into different buying/selling business ventures Im trying to take into ecommerce.
Im thinking if I do 10 banks a month I could maybe hit an extra $100-250 profit, no? If I ever get around to doing things with scrap gold then this could be a compliment to that in a way (never go too far from your niche they say).
Anything else like this out there that you know of?

I used to do this back in the early 90's, but even then it was a pretty rare fine (even back then) to find a pre-1965 90% silver dollar in those rolls. I'd be lucky to find even one in every 1000 pieces. That was back in maybe 1992 or '93, and I couldn't even imagine how hard it would be to find any silver these days. Not worth the time or trouble IMO.

Does not seem as a decent way of earning in the means of efforts spent and final profit.

Here is a money making idea,if you are in India!
Money exchange brokers visit rural villages and offer to replace filthy torn, smudged $50 equivalent bill (rupees of course) with crisp brand new ones .
Villagers gladly surrender their smelly old bills and get new ones !
The broker took it back to his home and engage some small kids with small hands, skilfully tear them into 5 pieces, then use 4 pieces to patch them back into one bill, take it t o the bank and get new ones.
if you have 12 old smelly bills, tear them into 60 pieces, put them back and you end up with 15 torn bills,go to the bank and get 15 fresh ones.
your profit is 3 bills.

This is not the only way Indians make money with their hands,
Medical schools seek human skeleton,Indians can provide them, and they are so well put together it passes mustard (aka medical school)

what about those coupons?buy toothpaste and then submit coupon with receipt and get your money back,we could all use toothpaste.
What bout those HD and LOWE coupons you can get with your USPS address change, sell them on Ebay.
Starbuck coupons are good too.
Someone in Florida went for a walk, and pick up some vultures feather, tie them together with a ribbon and some beads, sell it for $7.95.

I browsed Ebay the other day for silver coins as I have some which I want to sell, pure silver ones, but it aint worth the time, after Paypal and Ebay fees.
But there are some huge lot of coins from estate sellers,if you are willing to pay shipping and look for that diamond in the rough, but I bet the sellers would have kept the good ones for himself

It's rare you will find anything of value over and above what you paid from those so called "estate lots" on eBay. A lot of that is overhyped crap. All the good stuff has been picked out before you get it.
If you want better odds, participate in real estate sales or garage sales in your local area, or even smallish coin shows. Stay away from the large coin expos like Long Beach, ANA shows, FUN, etc because they typically target investors or people with lots of money. The small time coin shows are much more friendly to the small time collector.
