uk rental property

Hi, i hope to go into property in the future, and was wondering what the suitable amount of rental properties to have would be? This would be enough to essentially retire on at an early age (considering the rent is somewhat decent).

Indeed, this will take a VERY long time to achieve for me haha, but i was also wondering if flipping (refurbish and sell) houses in the UK brings tasty profit too?

Any advice is appreciated (I'm in the UK)!

it depends on how much money you have.
I know an Ebay seller who has a few properties,a duplex with 2 apts,one mobile home and another mortgage on a trailer and land ,she also gets SS $$ and sell on Etsy and EBAY.
People will always need a home to live,cant live on the street

I read in London,some homeowners will set up some units in the backyard,usually a large room with water and electricIty and a pullman kitchen and bathroom,rent for $400 GBP to those who cant afford an apt,you get two of thesE units in your backyard and you get 800 GBP per month.
larger ones go for more like 600 GBP.
In US,some will convert the garage into an apt .

which part of UK are you in now?
are you handy with household chores like fixing running toilet?

I'd start at auctions buy them cheap refurb and flip them and to earn a good return on rentals your best bet would be HMO's (Home Of Multiple Occupancy) basically your buying a 3 bed house preferably in a good location such as near a bus station/train station or a university and you convert the 3 bed house into a 5 bed and rent the rooms individually ROI is excellent however you do get more wear and tear on properties which are converted to HMO but if you slowly build up to 10 of these you can easily retire on that just remember it's all about location if your going to rent.
