| John14789 | 07-11-2008 01:42 AM | I knew someone was going to ask that so let me clarify. I mean get atleast 10 stable ebay accounts with atleast 25 feedback on each account and get some more cc with some high credit limits so I may by more inventory. Also want get atleast 50-75 back up accounts or even more. By the way does anyone know how people get cc with limits of like 100k? |
| badebay | 07-11-2008 02:51 AM | read your posts with interest john and cynic. i would say on balance that babypips is a great site to learn the basics. as long as you didnt trade out of your depth and put all your eggs in one basket. maybe a bit like a saturday flutter on the horses here. quite harmless if you just kept it reasonable. i checked out the site and was impressed how well it was laid out and how interesting it is to see how trading works in currencies. amazing insight. the school is a very good idea. but no way would i trade out off depth there. guess a lot of people enjoy it and imagine themselves as good traders. maybe if you did managed to make a bundle ( if thats posible ) then go get a ligit broker and get honest advice and assurances. |

| John14789 | 07-12-2008 04:13 AM | Hah hah very funny!
What I meant to say is that I want to create about 50-75 backup account in which I'm going to use 10 and keep the rest as just backups. Then I want to make a few cc with high credit limits so I may buy more inventory. That is what I meant by 100%. Yes divine I do underantd there is no such thing as 100% with eBay. |
| imjustme | 07-12-2008 04:22 PM | Any kind of business is stressful if you want to make money. I've been playing around on a Forex test account for the past 2 weeks or so. Started off with 50k and now I'm up to 85k. It's only play money, though, so I could be down to 0 had I used my real money.
Money is a love/hate relationship. I got 'serious' with money at the age of 16, made 1M, lost 1M and made 1M again. Think about the stress I had with that. It wrecks you.
I used to play with money like it was peanuts. Until I got a wake-up call. These days I hamster money. I play/spend a lot less. |
| aspkin | 07-12-2008 04:37 PM | You guys are funny, everyone knows Vegas is the only way go...
It'll be Poker time for me in 9 days in counting... |
| John14789 | 07-12-2008 04:39 PM | I agree there is always stree when making money and when you get that money the stree comes off and then we gothrought the whole process again.
How did you make 1M at age 16!!?
Are you liking forex.com? |
| imjustme | 07-12-2008 04:59 PM | I inherited 1M at 16, lost it all by 18, then made 1M of my own again by 20.
And once you have some money saved, it doesn't take off the stress. Keeping money is sometimes harder than making money. |
| John14789 | 07-12-2008 05:05 PM | Wow 1M by age 20 amazing!
Did you make the 1M by age 20 from eBay? |
| imjustme | 07-12-2008 05:11 PM | Heh no :D But I did make it online. Sold the company, then it went downhill. Not my problem, I got my money. Worked my butt off for 2 years though, 18+ hours in front of the computer Monday to Sunday without a single day of holiday.
I hate money, though. When you have it, you have to worry about losing it. When you don't have it, you worry because ...well, because you don't have money.
Now I just sell on eBay and do some other online businesses on the side. About half the money is used for monthly living expenses and the other half goes into my bank account. |
| John14789 | 07-12-2008 05:16 PM | Thats awesome man 1M that's alot lot money. If I had 1M I wouldn't even bother with eBay. I would just invest that 1M and just live off of that. What kind of comapny/business was it if you don't mind my asking? |
| MasterChief | 07-13-2008 12:48 AM | I dunno how relevant this is,
But there is a movie called "Boiler Room" about Bucket shops. Actually it was one of the best movies I saw last year. Boiler Room (2000) Ignore the rating. Way too many low IQ people out there that only want explosions and romance. Its at least an 8. |
| John14789 | 07-13-2008 02:49 PM | Modee that made absolutely no sense. Care to explain hef? |
| imjustme | 07-13-2008 04:33 PM | I think he typed that while baking dutch marijuana cookies. |
| mycrowman | 07-14-2008 12:55 PM | 1M USD or 1Myen? |
| imjustme | 07-20-2008 03:33 AM | I think losing a lot of money at a young age is sort of a wake-up call. I could call it the worst thing that happened to me or the best thing that happened to me, I haven't decided yet. |
| John14789 | 07-31-2008 06:28 PM | I quit **News update**
I quit trading the forex about 2 days ago. I feel relaxed but now I have to deal with the stress that goes along with online sales. Atleast online sales does not bring me soo much stress as the forex did. Anyways I'm now looking for other online investments I can make so dont hesitate to give some opinions.
BTW forex.com processed my withdrawl request and after the the request had been processed I recieved my money into my bank account without any hesitation. |
| imjustme | 08-08-2008 01:05 AM | Why did you quit? :) |
| John14789 | 08-08-2008 03:40 AM | I quit because there is just too much stress involved. Maybe in the near future I will start trading the forex. Have you officially started trading the forex imjustme? |
| imjustme | 08-08-2008 10:08 AM | Not yet really, still playing around with it more than anything. I'm not ready to go 'live' for at least a year. |
| aspkin | 08-08-2008 10:22 AM | Wow.. you think it takes that long to understand it all? |
| aspkin | 09-14-2008 06:14 AM | You watch a lot of movies Modee, I worked for Blockbuster for four years and you probably still seen more movies then I have. I didn't see Owning Mahoney, but according to Wikipedia you think I'm turning into a gambling addict?
Maybe, that's what moving to Vegas for three months might do to a person. I mean I live a mile from the strip, after reading through the forums what else can I do? Lol
Don't worry, the way things are going I won't be here for long. I'm good but a lot of the guys I play with are pros and just wait for people like me to show up. I have another month and half and I'll be back in Texas. |
| aspkin | 09-14-2008 08:58 PM | My store had Jackie Brown, I even bought the movie after watching it a few times. It's one of the best. |
| anonymous | 09-15-2008 07:39 PM | I mainly don't touch forex because you're trading a relationship, usually relatively short term. I'd be more likely to trade commodity futures but I'll probably avoid both except for the occassional etf. I'll probably stick with equities and equity options myself. So who here actually thought about buying some lehman puts the last few days and didn't and is now kicking themselves.. lol |

gambling is bad :) and i class this as the big G! | No friend this is not a gamble. Most of the people are in this market. People who gamble dont know whether they are going to loss or get they cannot hold thir positions but here in in this market you can hold positions as traders know that in 3-5 days this position would give him some profit. But in pure gambling there is no news nor you can hold out any positions. |
| Jonas | 10-23-2008 08:39 PM | Okay, you all are missing some things.
1) The forex's website generally wants huge amounts of money at minimum. So you can try $100, but usually $10,000 minimum.
2) Most forex trading is done by huge companies who pay huge amounts of money to have teams of experts to study the market to make money on the forex. Some individual is not going to beat that unless they're psychic and even if you're psychic then there would be other more powerful psychics than you on the forex.
There was some company that sold software to calculate forex stuff and that was revealed to be a scam because of #2 stated above. |
