Low search volume keywords on Google ads

What do we do with these keywords as they are mostly long tail keywords that do not trigger the ads to show. Should we leave as it is or remove them? I've noticed ever since I removed a big list of the "low search volume keywords", my sales and traffic dropped dramatically.
