Default The importance of SSL certificates

Hi all
I have a website on which i sell electrical appliances. My payments are managed through netbanx and its on their secure server. I have been advised to get a ssl cert for my site but not sure if its required as any sensitive info
will be taken through netbanx- when I say sensitive then I mean credit/debit card numbers and so on. someone has viewed my site and believes that a ssl cert will work a treat as many customers will not buy until they see a secure padlock and a https address in front of the url

If anyone has any experience then I would love some feedback - I would like to know if it helped your sales or not.

Thanks alot

Ok I guess im gonna get one anyway - just not sure which one to go for as there are so many on offer. I host my sites with hostgator and they are offering one for $75 for the year and then theres another site 123-reg.co.uk that offer a ssl cert for $9.99 for the year. I just cant see why the prices vary so much.

If its a padlock and https which will make the customer feel safe then I should just go for the cheapest one as I dont take card details anyway.

gonna have a think and make my mind up.

feels like im talking to myself ...lol

Sometimes my browser wont let me visit, or warn me about a site that has no SSL Certificate so I guess its important.
