Hi guys,

Long time from being on here but as usual when i have an issue I cant solve myself here is the place i look for advice.

Having an absolute nightmare with trustpilot.

We have one website carrying out good high volume sales - unfortuantely a handful of customer have taken to trustpilot to hammer us with 1 star reviews - including asking multiple friends and collegues to leave false negative reviews.

Trustpilot have said they will look into these reviews for us if we sign up for a paid membership but this is going to run into the thousands. I have read that once you begin this with them its a very slippery slope as the membership fees go up the larger your account gets.

Reporting them using our free account has not worked they just reinsitated them.

I have seen competitors accounts (reasonable sized companies) where all reviews have been completely removed. Does anyone know of a method to do this? Please send me a PM.

Any other advice?

Our live chat function on our website recieves 10-20 customers a day saying they are worried about making a purchase from us due to the reviews so this is a genuine issue for lost sales.

Thanks, yes I have read those reviews posted about trust pilot - mostly people claiming a review they left for a company was removed and they are correct.

If you pay trust pilot a monthly fee they will review and potentially remove any reviews posted about a company that the company feels may be "false" or "incorrect". This includes them contacting customers who leave reviews and asking them to verify the purchase they made - if they cant verify its then removed. Apparently trustpilot make it difficult for anyone to verify a purchase.

Im not really willing to sign up for a paid membership as the fee is several thousand dollars a year and once you sign up your kind of trapped as from what I have read online - if you cancel the subscription the negative reviews reappear. :ballchain:

As I mentioned I can see accounts where all reviews of a company have been removed so I assume there is a way of doing this but no amount of googling the topic is uncovering any news on how to do so.

Im hoping someone here runs an eccommerce store and has had a run in with them and managed to come out on top.

Have you thought about burying the Trustpilot review page? I'm assuming it ranks for your brand keyword. You could out rank it in the search engines but creating articles about your brand, social media pages, external blogs and even boosting other pages that rank for your brand to bury Trustpilot to 2nd 3rd or 4th pages in SERPs.

It takes a little work but it's possible. If you don't want to do that than paying Trustpilot a couple thousand a year might be worth it as it seems to have an influence over your customer's opinion of you. You just have to weigh if it's worth the money or not.
