Shopify or Amazon Dropshipping?
 

I wanting to dip my toes into either Shopify or Amazon dropshipping to have another platform besides EBay, which we know where you can get shut down at anytime on EBay.

Can the experienced guys tell me the pros/cons of each?

Shopify would mean I’ll have my own websites, so independence away from EBay plus it’ll look more professional than just selling on Ebay

Could a stealth PP be used to accept PP payments on Shopify?

What would you guys recommend?

I’m in the Uk so customers would expect the orders to arrive quick, would it be a good idea to find a drop shipper that’s based international and also in the UK for UK orders.


Is it wise buying a Shopify or Amazon course first?

Shopify is just web hosting, you then need to advertise your store. Amazon gets you customers without advertising if your prices are competitive.

Both completely different.

Amazon - but understand the platform well; no paypal involved.

Organic traffic on Amazon FBA is incredible, the barrier to entry is getting your product in there then getting reviews and feedback. The negative is Amazon own the platform unlike Shopify you can get banned at anytime.

With Amazon FBA yiu have to go out buy stock have it ready at Amazon fullfilment centres, so I could be spending £1000 for example listing it on Amazon and it wouldn’t sell so that’s money lost, whereas with Shopify I could use dropshipping and not have to spend £1000 on stock and use Instagram to drive traffic to my Shopify store

So then shopify is your answer.

Both have their advantages.

But understand, amazon controls your money and its their ball game.
You can get shot down in the blink of an eye.

you have not got much to lose trying shopify, a basic lite version is reasonably priced, you can add a helpdesk to it, like zendesk, and the question is the traffic after that, if you are confident with instagram that your product will get found and is popular enough.....lots of info online, no need for a course. I have no idea about instagram and how an ad campaign works, assuming there is a pay per click element........

dropshipping from china would be an issue with shipping times.
dropshippers in UK, I have never really seen much stuff with good prices tbh......
some china dropshippers have shipping partners in UK, but finding them is hard and they want regular sales orders, not the odd one, as they have to ship quantities to their partner and the partner ships out.
Otherwise the only way is to hold stock in country of shipment yourself if you have storage.

Good as in over 50K followers, people going to the page everyday or having a niche?
