OP, might have to deal with local diamond dealers - diamonds are one of those stones that are "priceless" meaning the prices are set by the buyer/demand...

India is very well known as one of the top producers of precious metals and stones.

Diamonds aren't worth much. They are just hoarded by a specific organization (i'll let you guess who), which makes it seem as if diamonds are rare, when they are really available in abundance. I know a lot about precious metals, and stones. I'm not sure if you're looking to resell diamonds as a business, or just trying to get rid of one you own. Make sure you know the clarity, cut, carat weight, and the color of the diamond you're selling to try to get the most money as possible.

Lots of buyers in India but they are not genuine so I want to sell globally.

global scammers will be attracted to your listing. There is no safe country for public buyer for this. They do chargeback or a not received or return different item etc etc.....

retail prices you see are nothing like what you can sell it back for to a dealer....

You need to take other things in consideration when shipping diamonds considering to their value, insurance is mandatory.

OK, I misunderstood the "not genuine" comment before.

If they are small and of bad colours (meaning less than VVS2) and ungraded without certificate, they are not gonna be worth much. Just sell them on ebay. Lots of cheap diamonds sold there.

I do not understand the need to sell a diamond online, there is a much higher risk of being scammed or it will look like you are scamming. Do some research by yourself of reputable companies on your local area that will take it. To sell diamonds online on a decent marketplace you will need the correct certification clearly stating its clarity, color and size.

I see hardly any pros to selling this item online and there is a long list of cons.

There are boutique auction sites which will sell loose diamonds,eg Aspire,you will have to send them these diamonds and they will take pictures,they have a resident diamond expert/

A real diamond merchant wouldn't be on a ebay suspension forum asking where to sell diamonds.

I have sold jewelry online ,up to $1k.
There were some scammers,they will ask you t ship here and ship there,and they can buy counterfeit money order,cashier checks so you think it is safe until your bank told you it aint.
sometimes the problem is not the buyer,it is the customs office or post office .

back then Ebay will allow you to ask for non cc payment,even to day some sites will ,depend on the seller.,eg ETSY,Bonanza,Rubylane.
Must be ten years ago,counetfeit USPS postal orders are being printed overseas,one electronic seller took them to cash at the local post office and he was greeted by 2 USPS armed security guards,asking him to step into backoffice to be interrogated!
There are also counterfeit money orders bought from small grocers,counterfeit corporate and personal checks.
They are coming from overseas printers who print checks,the USPS postal orders look the same,but it has no watermark

Ah ok not recently - sure those have happened way back in the early days of eb - i have seen it here and there in 1997 and such

no more ⊗⊗⊗⊗ USPS postal orders,USPS must have caught who is printing them.
I sent all mine in to USPS fraud dept,should have kept one for myself as souvenir,it has no watermark and the paper feels different.
it must be 2005 ,they came from UK

i had f*ke USPS postal orders in 1997-1999'ish - bank was helpful in verifying them - thankfully few and far in-between.
