Mercari advice

Hello I need advice on mercari. I have sold on mercari before and have been suspended indefinitely by them. I made a Mercari stealth and out of no where I had my account closed for good. I have 2k in completed funds and 1k pending that should be completed by end of week. They are asking to verify my identity in order for me to retrieve my funds. By the way, my account was closed due to selling counterfeit items according to them. I have never got any warning at all and I have all positive feedbacks and not one single negative feedback. So I’m guessing someone reported me or they may have linked my ip address which was banned previously. I had this exact thing happened prior and I used my identity to verify that account in which I now have to wait 90 days to transfer funds out from that account. So my question is, what and how should I verify this account t. Obviously I should somehow because it’s 3k. If it was $100 or so I would probably just ignore it, but since it’s a good amount of money, is there anybody willing to help me? Or is there any services available to verify with Mercari? The products I sold were like b-grades border line high quality 1:1. If it were 100% legit items I would go straight to the bbb. So what do you guys think?

Soo their assumption was right. There's nothing you can do other than try to find somebody to make you a phake ID, or try editing one yourself. Dark net markets used to be the go-to for that but none of them seem to be working this week. Going by what I've heard about Mercari's attitude on counterfeit sellers recently I doubt you'd be successful submitting a photoshopped ID. You might just have to take in on the chin and move on.

Do you guys advise against using a real identity? It’s 3k in funds. Buyers were offered to get a refund and send item back but majority kept it because like I said it’s not counterfeit but more of b grades. Anyway, anybody can help? Willing to pay up to $500

For verification they require social so I suggest you use a family members to withdraw the funds then cut ties with mercari because they will keep the funds unless you do so.

Stop with bad advise. No need to have another’s SSN involved or potential bad credit.

What were you selling? Phake shoes or something?

Re: Mercari advice

merc will most likely save all your ID info and hold the funds. because of what you sold, they have no obligation to give you anything. you did this to yourself. get some real products

Re: Mercari advice

Not ⊗⊗⊗⊗ but b grades. I have zero complaints or negative feedback. On top of that, I told Mercari to tell all pending customers to choose refund or keep item and almost all chose to keep and actually are happy. So please don’t assume. I got no warning from Mercari and they closed my account right when I was at peak for funds pending, and based off of their reviews and past experience, seems like they are just trying to hijack my money. My question is, can the irs or etc. get involved and do something? esp since I might have had a high number of direct deposits going into my bank accounts under alias

Re: Mercari advice

you claimed yourself, you lost multiple accounts. you know exactly what you are doing and breaking their TOS repeatedly. i don't give a flying fxck where your products come from or what they are. no one is going to step in and help you and they have all the right to continually shut you down and take your money. they labelled you a fxke seller so you can whine all day long. you're done and they own your ass.

Genuinely Interested. I sell modded video game systems... something thats in a pretty grey area since essentially taking a product and reselling it better but altered from its original intention which got me banned from ebay and mercari. Sorry to hear about your situation and just posting to say this....
YOU KNEW YOU WERE SELLING SHADY ****. Regardless of its good quality or not the big bois upstairs make the rules and you knew that your **** doesn't fall in line with their views.

Give them your ID. They'll say you can no longer sell on their platform but they will release your funds after 90 days as long as you don't make another account within that period that they can link you to (if they do then they add more time to the wait). But as long as you provide them with that then you'll get your money.

Oh god I hope so. I have already made claims with BBB. I have over 2k locked up in this **** platform. I have verified my identity so I don’t see why they could keep my money even if they try to claim my items were “illegal”

@Xebrandon hey did you get your money after you provide your ID ?

Re: Mercari advice

Did you ever get your funds back? Not sure if it's been 90 days for you yet, but do keep us posted. I also got banned from them the day I'm posted this on the forum and somewhat concerned as I've heard they would take away the money from us. I'm really hoping this is not the case.

Mercari support is absolute crap.
I have not heard of anything getting funds back once they took it =|

Re: Mercari advice

Well after being suspended indefinitely by them I cannot make an instant pay as a deposit option because I "violated their rules" of selling prohibited items. My only option is direct deposit, but my bank account info has already been given for my parents account and unfortunately, that account has already been banned. Friends and family won't give me their bank info cause they're saying Mercari cant be trusted. Other viable option is using paypal, but I'm concerned of giving them my SSN. Not sure if I want to open another bank account tho. Any other options you guys can suggest to me?

Hey do you have the availability to buy something when they freeze your account like that? If so maybe try reaching out to someone who also has a mercari account and buy a few of there items and they can ship like anything basically, you confirm you got the items.. they get paid, you take a 10% hit but better then not getting your money
