Mercari account death
 

I got caught with my pants down on this one. My account was 14-month-old account that had been babied to perfection. Almost 100 percent feedback of 250 plus minus 2 sales. I'd run the account as a supplemental sales account. Averaged 300-1000 in sales per month consistently with no problem. But this holiday, I upped sales and went ape****. Averaged 2000-3000 in Dec and Jan of this month. Of course, I got hit with a verified ID prompt. This is a stealth account. Tried to rationalize it was clerical and the taxes were paid on an EIN (which they were). They only want the stealth name.

I am taking it from what I have read they will pay anywhere 30-90 days. I, unfortunately, had 2000 in sales to complete with no problem rather than the limitation.

Can anyone elaborate more on the sales average you have experienced without problem? I'm curious how our data compares.

What was the total calendar year sales ? Returns included ?

When you refer to sales, are you talking about units sold, or the dollar amount?

I've learned Mercari is pretty much like eBay in the way they run things.

I got asked for ID when I had a huge spike in sales.

I don't think the amount is the issue, only that if there's a significant jump in sales compared to your average, it prompts them to investigate. Just like eBay (and I'm sure you know this already based on what you've shared), slow and steady wins the race.

Best thing to do is appeal and pray they approve, but I'd get started on a new account in the meantime

people with 1000 orders a month, must be selling something profitable. I do ok on bonanza also, multiple cash flow channels is always nice. I had groupon until i didn't, i have walmart now, i ride them while i can.I don't have etsy, no idea what people selling on there. ill just have to check it out!

My sales did go exponential in the last two months. I am sure that is why they flagged the account. They are currently saying the account is due to closure with funds. They wont validate the account because the bank account name is stealth. Has anyone had luck getting funds out after so many days when they cant validate the name on the bank account? The sales are complete and positive feedback. No prohibited item problems.

Does walmart marketplace do okay? I remember seeing people having problems getting in a few years back.
