Hey All,

So I'm trying to move away from ebay as I feel that I'm always looking over my shoulder waiting for them to restricted my account. What are the best platforms for UK sellers apart from ebay?

I have set up an Ebid account and sold a couple of bits on there but not getting the sales like ebay. Its a pretty good site with no listing fees and lower selling fees so I dont understand why there isnt as many UK sellers on there?

Would be nice to hear from other sellers that have found somewhere with plenty of sellers and buyers.

We ran a business with lots of success over 3 years, on our main page we had over 10000 followers BUT while I was away with the army one of our sub account had a verification check and instead of awaiting for it to go through the checks my wife decided to open another account. Which is a big no no for ebay after that they blocked all our accounts and told us we couldnt sell any more. One mistake and bang the whole business was gone!

We have used accounts from here but i dont like having to send in ID which isnt mine! and all the time I'm worried ebay will catch us out.

Ebid would be okay if more sellers and buyers moved over, I mean ebay stated off as mainly sellers selling to each other so just wanted to know why Ebid hasnt gone the same way?

No the account was being verified and she opened a NEW account while the process was happening, ebay states that while this is happening you can not open a new account and she did!! But even so for a top seller with over 3 years of selling and over 30000 of positive feed backs it was a hard pill to swallow.

I went as far as speaking to ebay main office in the UK and got told me it was ebay policy that if you break this rule then you are banned forever no matter how good of a seller you are!

Such a shame as we had a lot of people that brought products from us at a great price.

No thats everything that happened, I would say otherwise as it wouldnt get me the account back! Live and learn but trying to find a new home for the business now as I leave the military soon and want something in place before that.

So people must use Ebid, since i started this thread I have now sold 2 items lol, Okay I would of old 20 on ebay but its a start I guess.

Try shopify and promote through twitter, facebook, ads, etc.
