Running Multiple Shopify Stores With PayPal????
 

So i'd like to know if there is anyone here who runs a shopify store and can give some insight or tips on how I should go about accepting shopify payments through express checkout on multiple Shopify ecommerce stores. A lot of people who run multiple stores say they open separate PayPal business accounts to attach with them - but given the knowledge that I know with this forum, it definitely raises a red flag to even have multiple paypal business accounts as they obviously only let you have one. So what would even be the solution for this? Or would I just simply have to collect payments all in one business account?

Just use the same PayPal account for all the stores. There is no need for setting up different accounts when all stores can use the same PayPal account.

PayPal has no issue with multiple people sending money to your account though as you continue they can freeze your account just to enable you to verify what the money is for when it starts coming-in in large quantity.

So when such happens just send them the info about your business with screenshots of what you do and where your money is from. They always restrict money send for bad reasons like terrorism, child abuse, etc. So that will be just a routine check for their customers.

Create each store as a separate LLC and then you can get a different EIN for each LLC from the IRS. This method will ensure that if you have any issues with one store it won't bring down all of your other stores. Some may think it is too much work but this is the safest method.

I have 2 paypal business accounts with the same owner details, is that a problem? they are for 2 different businesses

If they have any little detail that links the 2 together then you can be sure that if PayPal limits one account then the other one will fall quickly also!

Phone number and address is the same on the 2 accounts, isn't too late to change it?

Yep pretty much there is no going back now. The best thing you can do is to create 2 new stealth accounts and then add them to your stores.

But can I have 2 business accounts or not? i have read online that one person can have only one account

Yes people can have more than 1 account. BUT just understand if 1 account gets limited or has limitations placed on it the other account will have the same issue right away even if it is a separate business.

If you want to ensure that all of your businesses don't come to a screeching halt then you need to be proactive and get separate accounts going now and then link them to your store and move on.
