Onbuy fees just brutal

9% final value fee
20% VAT ON YOUR SALES PRICE - not added at checkout
3% paypal fee
1%-10% booster fee for ads

Only way to get around this is to have a minimum sale price of £135.

Just venting

Clearly it's not because any business in the UK for example with a turnover of more than 85K pays VAT and that's most decent businesses.

There's the flat rate scheme which works for some but like any fee/cost......you build it into your business model.

Actually, looking at those fees they seem pretty reasonable to me.

If you're located outside the uk or your items ship from outside the uk you're forced to pay the vat.

Correct, but that's not a onbuy fee and is the same for all Non Exempt Taxable Persons living in, or shipping into the UK. It's been like that for years now and the new brexit regulations have compounded the issue.

Even Aliexpress now have to collect VAT on behalf of HMRC. Whether it gets there is another matter......

You're right. Doesn't make sense to me why they can't add the vat at checkout...would probably lower conversions. From their TOS it was only enacted this year
