Just a friendly update to all sellers:
FB marketplace WILL shadow your ads if you run hot before being accepted into their new program. Their new program is none other than just like eBay's, "sponsorship ads" aka "boosted ads" in their terms.
I got massively hot. I'm talking 50k plus per month CLICK through. But suddenly, the algo didn't choose me and my listings died to almost nothing. I was absolutely baffled as I had no major account complaints. Then it magically showed up after several months of nothingness; boosted ads.
So, beware. The algos on there are out for one thing and one thing only now. Not the best product placement, but the best revenue share of the product placement. I tested the "boost" and got exponential growth exposure overnight. Did it convert sales, eh, just a few, but their model is old school I believe it isn't just word search based, more demographic placement, which is odd. We will see how this pans out. |
