I have reused the same information numerous times and never had a problem. I've also had the 1099k threshold passed every time as well. I've done this from 2019-2025, with my current active account working. However this time I only want to push around 20k sales a year. This is only a backup account for some extra money. Using Mercari for any other means I think at this point is 100% foolish.
I've been banned before. Would that not flag my ID and IMEI? I take it your id has never been banned or your device number.

This is with a different EIN, different business, different address, keeping all things stealth maintained, but same SSN each time.

So they technically have had the same SSN each time, same ID, same selfie of me, and never once was I subject to a connection between accounts.

at this point you're goanna be the go to guy for more obscure platforms like tikotok and mercari heh.

I use a T-mobile phone and each time just reset to factory settings. I don't think they track either of these things you mentioned because my ID has been used numerous times. Each time I submit docs for manual review to pass the soft 20k limit, I input same SSN, and these things are manually reviewed.

If there was a button for them to input my data then cross check for a link it would have happened.

Maybe if you sell in a particular category they treat your account differently than mine. Never had an account suspended due to linkage. Actually the last account was suspended because of shipping, even though I had perfect feedback, and no returns.

They claimed customers were complaining so without warning I was just automatically suspended. However, my funds were not held. After about 2 months I got my $1,000+ back. If there was any way of them to link me I almost guarantee it was checked with my account before they released the funds.

But thats just me.

Interesting. Is your phone Android or Apple? I know they have my IMEI number. I don't know how I would spoof that on my personal iPhone with downloading from the app store. It seems the information would not cross over. I was creating accounts with flip phones, which of course don't hold the tech for verification.

The more I think about this, I wonder if you could back up your personal phone and keep resetting it. Or, just investing a burner smartphone. I am going to test the latter of a burner smartphone through tracphone. I've had a horrible time, having number recycled that have signed up for the app before. We'll see how it goes.

I hope the burner smartphone option works well - it's the easiest of the options it would seem...

I like using my work phones with Android, and personal is iPhone. Sometimes there are things you can do on the apps that differ between the device, it's helpful.

When I have had an account suspended, I do take about 2-3 months of time before opening another, and try to move them slowly. I just reset the phone to factory settings and change the phone number. T-mobile allows you I think 2 times a year due to "spam related". Otherwise its like $10 or something to change.

The last two times I've been suspended was out of the blue, and I've had perfect feedback each time. So now I just prefer to push 20k at most each year, and i'll be happy with that. Basically just pays off my office space, along with some other things.

Always have had one Mercari account running at a time. Never more than one. When they have gotten suspended before I change every detail I can in the settings too.

I still respect stealth, each time its a different business I use, different EIN, different bank account etc, but for the personal details thats always been the one constant.

Side note: the phones I paid for are like $150+ so its expensive, with a $20 bill. But if you know you'll make $20k off the account, its worth the fee. Just have to accept it as price of doing business...

I was bypassing that by using ship on your own. But as of last week, they got rid of that.

For me, wasn't worth the headaches with dealing with all their crap for the amount of low sales and user base.

Oh so you do use 1 phone per 1 mercari account?

I'm assuming a cheap android phone? Or old iphone?

I’ve used different phones but the current one has been used for 3 different accounts since 2023. I lost two accounts since then, both out of the blue suspensions, which now I know they do.

I had perfect feedback on both accounts, doesn’t matter. Even had no returns. Didn’t matter. Customers complained about shipping.

The android is about $150 with a sim card

I mean you run 1 mercari account on 1 phone right? Not all 3 at the same time.?

Yes I only operate one account at one time, so it's always one account with one phone.

I have had my current account for 3 months now, hardly listed anything. Made about $600 bucks. Once I list more I plan to average around $2k at most per month. Once I get near 20k I'll just clip the sales. Rather have 18-19k a year then have to go through the process of making a new account every year, facing the same bs from their support. Anything passing 20k just puts you on their radar, and they ban accounts without warning, regardless of feedback or return ratio.

The don't like business sellers. Every time I got suspended was when I had about $2k+ pending.

Mercari does sound more like amazon ....

just to share........... I listed an item worth $300 for $90 since it's used (even though is mint condition) and I got bottom feeders begging me to sell to them for $60.

Their reasoning? They said they only have $60.

Bottom feeders.

Haha, yeah whenever I list a sale on Depop, I always get MORE offers after the sale. It's like putting something for sale to the newer generation of consumers at least for what I sell, in their minds is an invitation to ask for lower, not take the discount already presented.

I do accept offers on platforms that hide what I accept, but like on eBay you have to select "open to offers". If I include that in all my listings then to me I'm telling my customers everything I sell can be bought at a lower price.

I don't think you can take off the offer option on mercari though.

This generation is so entitled and lazy.

Tried to create a new account with my real information and Junio detected my ID and banned the account. Going to be tough to beat it, if at all possible.

I literally made a new account a few months ago with the same ID always have. Maybe you just got blacklisted. I did the selfie with ID. I'm fully verified and sold over $600+.

So there's a ban / suspension and there's a "blacklist" on IDs for mercari?

Just for the record my newest account got randomly suspended. Literally for no reason, and they don't offer a reason. Just "prohibited conduct". I don't even CARE to think about what happened. I had 5 sales, took it pretty slow. Zero issues with sales. They are giving me my money after everything is delivered, cool. I priced in about 20k from this marketplace yearly, I'll make up for it elsewhere like Grailed.

I am DONE with Mercari forever and ever.

What a trash marketplace. I don't know why they will be around in 5 years.
