I had 5 sales, took it pretty slow. Zero issues with sales. They are giving me my money after everything is delivered, cool. I priced in about 20k from this marketplace yearly, I'll make up for it elsewhere like Grailed.
I am DONE with Mercari forever and ever.
What a trash marketplace. I don't know why they will be around in 5 years. | I'm assuming you didn't do anything funny with them right?
So it's completely unjustified? |

So it's completely unjustified? | I honestly have already erased Mercari from my mental, but I think I did update something recently that caused this.
If I am completely honest, there was 5 sales one did request a refund about 3 weeks ago. I had two sales after this, everything has shipped on time. Last year I was suspended like this for "prohibited conduct", after I filed a BBB complaint they told me I was suspended for late shipping. Even though that account had zero returns, or zero canceled items. So they proactively suspended the account because I had some packages that possibly customers complained about but were never cancelled. I would presume one customer complained and Mercari being Mercari the agent just suspended me.
The only other things I did was report someone like 10+ times because he was reusing my photos. Maybe if a human reviewed my reports decided to flag my account? I don't care honestly. I only projected Mercari to obtain about $20,000 yearly. I can make this up on WhatNot or Grailed.
Mercari is the only marketplace that likes to suspend without reason or context. Even on eBay I always know partially what I did wrong. If I violated something serious I'm pretty sure they'd have restricted my funds from payout, I still will get my payout after everything is delivered. Unless they changed that policy, my last two suspensions I was given my payout.
My last 3 suspensions all have been abrupt suspensions, with zero warning, I never had one listing flagged for any reasons whatsoever. Before 2023, the 2 accounts I managed experienced much more problems, like soft suspensions for cancelled sales or listings removed due to getting flag. |

And yes, I have a grailed account also, but I'm taking it very slowly with a game plan to ensure it creates longevity. If you treat Grailed with respect, and get enough reputation built up, depending on what you sell, it can easily replace eBay sales. I just want it as an extra marketplace to have to reduce risk. |

Last time I had a customer claim an item was not received even while using TikTok label, they refunded the customer, I disputed it, then TikTok flagged a listing, then flagged 3 more just to suspend. Mind you the package was delivered, and tracking clearly showed this. I literally did nothing wrong. It felt deliberate. And I don't get my money back ever, so it's just like what Mercari used to do. That carries a lot of risk if a marketplace can just randomly suspend you without any fair process for recovery. At least eBay has a process.
Speaking of WhatNot, I have had two sales within the last week. Have not listed anything on the account in 5 months. WhatNot is top 5 in the app stores. I think it's time for many of us to consider this as an option as well. Especially if you can do live videos, should far exceed Mercari. |

4.97 billion was its recent valuation. That is more than Etsy currently, who also owns Depop. |

Mercari doesn't seem to me like it was 4 years ago. I made over $30k+ off NTWRK. Which got bought out by Complex, and no longer a website.
I'm pretty sure plenty here could make extra money off it, depending what one sells. Doesn't hurt IMO. That is, if you're able to manage inventory properly. |
