With a free hosting account and a script like Magento or Zencart, it would only cost $10 for a domain name.

Dont do it.. you'll be wasting a lot of money on it. eBay and Amazon's traffic is the best more sales in a day than what you will make in a day on your own site. But if you want to check Godaddy.com or Yahoo stores.

5 a week is not that bad. Your sales will surely build up. Don't expect as soon as you list the item you will get sales. You also have to market your website which can take time.

Right, it takes time and a lot of effort to build up your site, but it's worth it and can be done.

Domain is around $10 a year, you can get hosting for around $50 a year if that, and a shopping cart can be found free or go with a paid cart.

It takes a lot of time to setup and promote but again it's worth it.

With my first sales site, I setup my site in about 30 days and had my first sale hours after I went live. It can happen.

For hosting, all you would really need is a shared hosting account. You could get one for $2 to $10 a month. There are several places that have free hosting which you could use to get going.

Take all the email addresses from the winning bidders of your auctions and email them about your site. You will get a lot of hits to it, and as long as your products are kinda related, people will buy. The key to running your own site is repeat customers.

Repeat customers do help I agree, you can use a email sender like Aweber or Constant contact to keep in content.

A shared hosting I recommend is Hostgator, I use it for 80% of my websites. They're cheap, and very stable.
