Selling multiple items on one website.

Ok lets say i have a very very nice looking website for shoes. But i would also like to sell ebooks not related to shoes. would it be a good idea to make a new category for the ebooks?. or would it just diminish my website?

Emm, if it's not targeted to your shoe customers... you won't get any sales. It'll be pointless to do so. It's better to start a new site for eBooks and link from your shoe site.

Also adding a totally different topic to your site could hurt your SEO rankings for shoes. Google and other search engines might think your site is about these eBooks instead of shoes and you'll lose what shoe rankings you have. It's not a good idea unless they're related.

thanks a lot aspkin.

Know of any very very very cheap hosting sites? that will give me a new domain name and hosting?

aspkin 12-19-2007 07:31 PM

Godaddy, If you buy a domain name and hosting, you get a big discount on the domain. Hosting is around $5 a month I think. They're not that bad either.

I use hostgator.. I can give you special invite and you get you 1st month hosting for 1 penny. Godaddy to me is only good for domain names

Aye, and $50 commission per invite. I'm looking into the affiliate hosting business.

yep .. Not to bad

Chris Hanson 12-20-2007 01:43 AM

Do u use Commission Junction? I like using them because all the affiliate programs are under 1 roof and you get 1 pay check not 10 different checks from each program. Only downside is that you might get paid a little less but not much

aspkin 12-20-2007 02:21 PM

I use CJ, it's not that bad.

Chris Hanson 12-20-2007 07:31 PM

yeah if they would stop stealing my money. One day I might have X amount of dollars and the next day it is $20 short..

aspkin 12-20-2007 10:26 PM

I've been using CJ more often with eBay. I've noticed a nice snow ball effect with it. I didn't make any commission for the first week or so, then slowly I started making something every few days, then every couple days, now every day it seems. It's pretty cool; especially since I haven't really done anything to promote it. Just entered it into some blog posts using WP affiliate pro plugin. Good stuff.

I'm really thinking about going to try the web hosting affiliate niche. Very high commissions there and since I know just about everything about web hosting it should be easy.
