| Gladiator | 08-27-2010 12:44 PM | Banned on Etsy Hi, I know that this site is mostly dedicated to those who have eBay troubles. Well, a few of us have succumb to the blows of other listing sites, in this case Etsy.
My question is, is it possible that a site who is not owned or operated in the way eBay and Paypal are, would they know you're the same person if you changed your email that you accepted payments on?
I would already change the formatting and look of my photos, etc.
Any advice would help! The stealth guide has been really helpful dealing with eBay, but since this site isn't owned by them, I just wondered if I needed to go to all the trouble of a new Paypal account for them.
Thanks! :yar: |

I would imagine the same stealth principles apply to Etsy as they do to ebay and any other ecommerce site. I don't know enough about Etsy to provide specifics though. |
| Gladiator | 08-27-2010 04:02 PM | A wrongly filed DMCA.
I'm just not sure if their site has the ability to track anything as there are tons of people who get booted off that keep coming back, you know it's them, and they do nothing about it.
They don't have automatic payments, withdraws, or anything like that. You put in your email and people pay. Sometimes it shows that payment is made, others it doesn't. That's why I'm wondering if it matters or I should go undercover for awhile. :spy: |

Change your IP and delete ALL your cookies including flash cookies (all very important), email address, new pics etc. |

There's actually a very, very, competitive market place in the vintage category and a few others. It's like a bunch of pirates over there and they will purposely try and mess your store up by buying items under rogue accounts to file false non delivery complaints and leave feedback that is less than stellar. So, while it's not something you would associate with all their hippie looking owls and cheesy homemade wreaths, there's a little circle that is highly successful. I know, wtf? But it's on there.
I've got a few other places I sell at that I'm working on, but I'll try to setup a new account sometime this week. It's really sad how jacked up their system is, after one or two minor things, they boot you off. Even eBay isn't this ridiculous.
Anyway, I want to thank you guys for taking the time to respond. |
