I definitely need a site that has site builder tools.
I did research on the top web hosting sites and I got this.
1. iPage
2. Justhost
3. Fatcow
4. Host gator
5. Yahoo
Those were the top 5 out of 10
Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations.
Im looking to set up a site for my real estate business.
Thanks in advance. |
| beatingebay | 08-27-2010 11:44 PM | Volusion, it is a build your self website e commerce and 24 hour help line and videos on how to build your e commerce yourself. I love my sight looks great and did it myself! |
| aspkin | 08-28-2010 01:23 AM | Hostgator is probably the best... I use them for a lot of my sites. Their servers are hosted at 'The Planet' which has one of the best uptime records. They're fast, priced well and their technical support is actually amazing. |
| smile | 08-28-2010 09:36 AM | Thank you. im looking into both of them. :thumb: |
| winstons | 08-28-2010 10:31 AM | I recommend Host Gator, I hosted my Website there, the price is good, up time is excellent and super fast technical help. |
| imthatguy | 10-14-2010 09:20 PM | Hostgator, but if you have any illegal or phake goods on it, dont even try it. |
| holymoly | 10-24-2010 06:41 PM | hostgator hands down for hosting! |
| eurovive | 11-17-2010 10:38 AM | Well People don't use Big promising hosts like HostGator,000webhost,Soft-Layer and others.First check your hosting ip.If its using Softlayer - imediately GO AWAY FROM IT.
THEY SHUTTING DOWN PEOPLES SITES WITHOUT NOTICE,WITHOUT ABILITY TO BACKUP.
They are like PayPal in hosting sense.
If you need hosting that will not be shutdowned suddenly and WILL NOT BE REGULATED BY US LAWS - Choose Canadian or Netherlands based hosting.or Danemark based hosting.
Also look how long host is in business.
Hosting that are run by One-day resellers usually Down after recession.
More than 10 years is very good.
Like one DTS-NET DTSNET, Web Hosting, Managed Hosting, Internet Access and Global IP Network Services They running since 1997.
Also avoid to popular hosts - AS LOOK LIKELY THEY WILL LIMIT YOUR Bandwidth and one day you will get error 502.
I mean they will promise you unlimited traffic - But its bull**** as you know.
So Solution for your small business - Less promoted, old and good sites like dts-net and others. Also dts-net offers own nameservers.
Also avoid BRIGHT-MADE sites - Beside BRIGHT template stolen or bought from Template Monster they don't have anything else bright.
Regards
Nick |
| holymoly | 11-19-2010 10:11 PM | Ok, this can be true; however, the main things are
WHAT ARE YOU SELLING?
TRAFFIC?
HOW EASY DO YOU WANT THE WYSIWYG TO BE? |
| MadSam | 11-22-2010 07:24 PM | I think that may be a problem that only eurovive is experiencing in the country of his flag. |
| Axcend | 11-22-2010 07:26 PM | I use webhostingpad, ridiculously cheap, near perfect uptime, and the control panel is rather easy to use, with amazingly fast customer support. |
| MadSam | 11-22-2010 07:29 PM | Is that only for a small site? As you need more bandwidth you would need to go to HostGator. |
| Axcend | 11-22-2010 07:37 PM | 100gigs a month bandwidth
its specifically designed for small businesses. I did a couple hours of google research and reviews and came to that being the cheapest solution. |
| MadSam | 11-22-2010 07:43 PM | Good options for small sites, 100GB a month is very limited. Anything larger and nothing really beats HostGator. |
| imthatguy | 11-28-2010 06:00 PM | HOSTGATOR IS OVERPRICED BY FAR. MOST OF YOU CAN GET BY WITH SAME HOSTGATOR SPECS WITH ANOTHER COMPANY FOR ABOUT $3 A MONTH. Hostgator is way overpriced |
| First Edition | 11-28-2010 06:55 PM | Overpriced? Really, you're bargain hunting for something where the MOST expensive package is 13 dollars a month? really? |
| MadSam | 11-29-2010 04:10 AM | You call $2.48 overpriced? Geez, I wouldn't like to see what you've got in the refrigerator. |

Host gator is overpriced for the hosting plans they offer. You can get same hosting plan and save over 60%. Thats all I was saying.
And its not unlimited like they say. |
| First Edition | 12-03-2010 07:44 AM | It's not unlimited? How so? I'm just curious... being all smart and all :) |
| MadSam | 12-03-2010 11:50 AM | That's true it's not unlimited - there's a fair usage policy. I'll have to check what the maximum is in the fine print. |
| eurovive | 12-09-2010 10:20 AM | HostGator sucks!
Better try 1and1 - they are good in domains.
IN 2004 they were giving 25 free .info for every customer for 1 year.

Hey guys, I was able to snag a couple sweet domain names on namescheap and I have plans on how monetize them all plan on starting during january, my only question is I plan on using Host Gator as my host and I see that there second plan allows you to add unlimited domains for $10 a month and unlimited bandwidth. So does that mean that I can host all my domain names with just one plan? even though they all will be different?
This sounds kinda to good to be true lol or maybe I'm just a noob when it comes to this, so if it does infact mean I can host all my domains on there for that low price is there any cons? Also is there any really useful difference between the baby plan and the business plan, seems pretty much the same except some things i dont think i need. |
| MadSam | 12-11-2010 09:59 PM | The problem with hosting domains on the same IP address, is if you're using content that Google doesn't like (which I know from what you've told me you are), it helps them to link your sites together and you run the risk of them de indexing your sites from the search engine. |

| eurovive | 12-23-2010 04:33 PM | I will soon post lot of Hosting sites.
They are cool!
You will wonder how many hosting providers in USA.
I even found one that hosted on Satelllite networks (Hughes)

| Wikked Tikked | 03-29-2011 11:34 AM | I don't see a country flag for Smile but I'm in the U.S. and I recommend networksolutions. I'd get a $50 bonus for recommending you but I'm getting anonynoynia or paranonymous or something so I'm laying low. I have one site with them and although I don't use it as a store or business it would be a good place to do it. I'm just into basic html and use front page express to design basic pages and notepad to do edits. I don't go for flash or anything fancy because I want to make sure the smallest user, the poor sap that still has to use dial up doesn't have to wait for huge images, banners and flashy animations to load.
I think netsol would be good for you. They have excellent help and customer service without long waits, plenty of tools for your own site design and other options. The only thing is what I use it for is basic. They offer other options but some of them will cost extra like having them design your site but from the sound of it if you want basic and can do it yourself they are a good way to go. |
| goodies$24 | 04-20-2011 08:35 PM | hello
For a good offshore hosting i would use these people hostsaker.com.
there cheap and support is great |
| surcerouche | 07-14-2011 08:11 AM | Thanks for the suggestions guys. I tried intuit, but it just doesn't seem professional looking enough. I am off to hostgator. |
| nobody999 | 07-18-2011 06:55 PM | i have about 100+ domain names with godaddy, it's about time to renew. any other registrar that is cheaper that i can transfer to? |

I actually moved all my GoDaddy domains, well most domains, to NameCheap.com. They have a much better dashboard for managing domains, not all that cluttered garbage GoDaddy throws at you. And their whois protection is MUCH cheaper. |
| JRYAN34 | 07-18-2011 11:40 PM | its not the site, it google addwords, and getting your sites noticed on search engines |

Thanks in advance. | DO NOT use ipage, justhost, or fatcow (all the same owner) for your business website! You will see downtime and a real estate site will be very, very slow. HostGator is a little more expensive than the rest, but they are well worth the few extra bucks! |
| goodies$24 | 07-26-2011 03:46 PM | i just switch to hostbig they pretty cheap and good tech support . |
| First Edition | 07-27-2011 12:49 AM | what nice big spam you HAD there. |

| golden_monkey | 06-22-2012 12:07 PM | If host gators servers really are on "the planet" keep and eye out, that server farm was a fav for spammers and hit the top 10 spam ISP list a few years back.
