Autoblogs

Now, I know aspkin does autoblogging and has written a book on it. But I'm not sure it works anymore, since a lot of Google updates e.g. mayday, so I'm wondering whether to get started at all.

A lot of people at other forums get their sites either deindexed or banned by the web host. Autoblogs are also a lot harder to get ranked due to duplicate content. And although Adsense would be the obvious option to monetize, I'm worried about them banning my account.

I've read many books, guides and tons of forum posts, but I still don't "believe" it can make you the money on auto pilot, thus I am discouraged. I have made 10 autoblogs which plan to drive traffic from twitter, but it's so slow to get followers.

I guess the questions will have to be, how to rank in google with autoblogs and how to prevent your adsense from being banned.

This should be answered.

A successful autoblog depends on content used and promotion.

Duplicate content doesn't rank and without any promotion your blogs won't go far.

Once you figure this out and give Google what they're looking for.. you'll start having successful autoblogs that run up thousands of visitors a day, each and everyday for years.

Is it slow to build traffic to autoblogs?

aspkin 09-09-2010 07:00 AM

Usually no, Google loves properly built Autoblogs. Thus their popularity.

MadSam 09-09-2010 09:02 AM

Does that mean stay away from PLR or you can use PLR just change it around a bit so it's not duplicate?

Roughly how many autoblogs have you built?

philly387 09-12-2010 07:44 PM

Definitely stay away from putting up PLR articles. What I do is re-write PLR articles and put them up. Then put it on my site and to go copyscape.com to make sure it passes so google won't see duplicate content.

This is a very interesting topic...why is no one else talking about it?

Ghost 12-05-2010 12:51 PM

^^ I was wondering the same thing

Yeah I recently decided to give the website building venture a try, currently just researching it extensively. One of my websites will definitely give auto blogging a try, does anyone know the link to aspkin's auto blog? Thanks

I just read the Autoblog book.... I wish I had read it years ago... the funny thing is, I've been preaching to people to ween off ebay..... ugh. I feel sick.

Anyway, we need to keep this thread alive!

MadSam 12-13-2010 04:51 PM

AutoBlog Book is a great piece of work.

First Edition 12-13-2010 04:53 PM

I agree 110%. I'm on page 4 so far.

rafc 12-26-2010 09:30 AM

But if you write your content, or rewrite it yourself, it's not really an autoblog then, is it? Kind of a semi- autoblog, at best!

Have you experienced this firsthand yourself? I only ask because I also hear a lot of people who claim the whole "duplicate content penalty" is just a myth.

First Edition 12-26-2010 06:41 PM

Well first off, it's illegal to just copy someones work. Google is a private company. they can do as they please just like ebay for example. People working their system will be penalized as they have in the past. Just google it... lol

holymoly 12-26-2010 09:01 PM

Well it is google's job to process and see the original source of content. That is what they do for SERP ranking.

Depends on the niche

aspkin 01-08-2011 02:15 AM

Duplicate content won't hurt a website, but Google won't rank the content 'well' unless it has overwhelming SEO. Generally I've found autoblogs that simply rip other people's content, especially content that ranks high on another website or websites do not do well. The best autoblogs are ones that use unique content. And yes you can automate unique content. There are some great tools out there.

Ranking and getting traffic with duplicate content = Hard
Ranking and Getting traffic with Unique content = EASYYYY

Spun content is something in between, but that's for another time.

I talk about this in the eBook. SEO for me is fun. :)
