I've news for you,

IF the IRS has mandated it wants 1099 for ecommerce platforms, that will happen.

Sensbile sellers would prepare now for the future. By all means tottle off to wherever, but the TAX MAN follows.

You hear that here first folks

What's to stop someone setting up an ecommerce site in another country where the laws don't apply?

Nothing - But what will the IRS say when they do who-is and find the name of who owns the domain?

Time for lateral thinking

What would make someone use their real name when registering a domain name? And what about membership sites which allow public users to create an account and buy and sell on it? How could the IRS apply US laws to a website hosted outside their juristiction?

This is why Paypal have invested in an artificial island. Once it's complete they'll be able to write their own laws.

Why fight the US IRS, when you fight back the IRS fights back even harder. Just pay the dam taxes and be happy. Not all taxes go to wars, taxes pay for streets, schools, and other junk.

The IRS is above any and all laws. private domain registration doesn't hold out the tax man. Neither no banks, or western union for that matter. Much MUCH easier to just register an LLC with a tax ID. Car, gas, cell phone, computer, internet, go work at a starbucks or panera write all of it off on taxes. You can write off as much on taxes as expenses for as much as you make claiming $0 profit. Just keep receipts to prove it. Anything that you can reasonably justify as a "business expense" is fine. Big corporations do it all the time. It's the joy of owning a legitimate business

If none of you guys have read the underground handbook, you need to. Off Shore banking for americans is still real and legal. Most congress men do this in the US. There is tons of nations that hate the USA and will not let them look at your banking records form there juristrisction.

I sell on all 3, here are the pros and cons:

Ecrater:

Pros:

- NO FEES.
- You can dispute negative buyer feedback.
- Seems to attract buyers from the UK.
- Easy to handle.

Cons:

- Not a lot of traffic.
- Design is not very appealing.

Bonanza:

PROS:

- Low fees.
- Very nice design and idea, results appear in google search.
- Easy to handle.

CONS:

- Still not a lot of traffic.

Ioffer:

PROS:

- Seems to attract some kind of traffic, although not a lot.
- Can sell counterfeit items, not much scrutiny.

CONS:

- Horrible to handle - customer support do not answer quickly and are not that willing to help you.
- I get restricted every time my account doesn't receive enough buyer feedback - this leaves an absurd situation in which my account is up fir 2 days and then down for another 15.
- None paying buyers is an issue. You get charged a final value fee when a buyer presses buy it now - but if he doesn't pay you can only file a none paying buyer dispute after 15 days or so. VERY BAD!
- Fees can also be an issue, fees are low unless you are selling the clothing category where fees reach 10% - you have no option to request cancellation for a transaction (only the buyer has this option). Ioffer will not refund your final value fee if you contact them.
