| | | Cuterthaneveryone | 10-22-2011 03:36 AM | Just got suspended from Etsy Hi, Just lost a very profitable shop. Posted 68 captioned photos with Etsy, step by step explainations of my process, showed them all my ring making equipment. still said I did make my stuff. No explanation, no evidence. Had no customer complaints, perfect feedback, Paypal account and their account paid all was well... wake up suspended. Done, no recourse.
How can this happen? Can Etsy link with Paypal and Ebay? I don't really want back on Etsy, just don't want this to happen again...ever, if I am on another site. It is crazy, can they go into your accounts on other sites and snoop? Or am I being paranoid? Or more paranoid than usual? |
| RedShootingStar | 10-22-2011 11:51 PM | You sure that you didnt violate any of their major rules, because typically it takes alot to get suspended from these smaller specialty sites. |
| GreenBean | 10-23-2011 02:21 AM | Not the way etsy has been acting over the past nine months.
There's a hierarchy developing within etsy. Sellers are not dissimilar to the loverlies on the various purse forums AND the ebay forums. Nasty nasty pieces. Heard of more than one shop going without as much as an explanation. I can vouch that the seller has not broken rules. (not me;))
Etsy is not linking ebay/paypal info (yet). crosses fingers for that to be permanent:juggle:
If you make your own jewelry, have you tried other sites? Artfire is nice. More exist |
various purse forums - what`s this mean? |

| GreenBean | 10-23-2011 09:29 AM | Nope not there :) |

| Click | 01-09-2012 08:04 PM | I was banned from Etsy because I was accused of being part of a collective. A collective on etsy is (basically) when you log into any account other than yours. Soooo if your 70 year old mother - grandmother whatever needs help and you log into her account to look at her shop. Poof you are a "collective" so you are forced to place on your shop that you are part of her shop. Crazy right? I know. When I declined to claim that was the case that I was not part of another shop they banned me. One day out of no where. BEST part...they IP ban and use what is called a zombie cookie and that is how they track you.
Being the brat that I am . I keep opening shops until I figured out a way around them.
1. I used Hidemyass.com
2. Change your email on paypal and DO NOT use an echeck to pay the bill. They flag your address and your name. The IP is banned. You can get on the site and look at things, but if you want to look at say other pictures of an item or do anything , but glance you will find your locked out. Use a CC from another source that has a DIFFERENT address.
3. Use CCcleaner no matter what everytime you log on Etsy.
4.Change the first picture on your site (just to be sure)
5. Stay off forums ( you dont want any attention , but from buyers)
6. You basically want to fly under the radar and not alert them that its you in any way shape or form.
Etsy is a very nasty nasty company...I suspect as is Ebay. They are all the same really. For every one of us they ban there are 100 new people behind us pushing us out of the way....so why would they honestly care about sellers. As long as they get their cut and the people who work for these company's make their 7.50 an hour that is all that matters to them.
Sooooo IP traced.Home Address Flagged. Paypal address and email flagged. Zombie cookie...so it will take some tries, but eventually you can beat them at their own game. |
| lotsof baskets | 01-11-2012 09:57 AM | Regarding the zombie cookie, does using a different windows user account solve that problem? (As with ebay for example.) |
| biggunn | 01-14-2012 12:29 AM | Is etsy owned by or affiliated with ebay??? |

Anybody know the answer to this one? | Yes using different user accounts saves cookies to different user profiles unless you are talking flash cookies then only way is to delete them or use VMs |
Still learning about VMware |

| cathiefrances | 08-14-2018 08:26 AM | Re: Just got suspended from Etsy i have been on steathly Et**y for over 2 years now, now i just found out the entropay will not service me anymore does anyone have any other recommendations on which to use thank you. |
| JPBAILEY | 09-05-2018 04:47 PM | Re: Just got suspended from Etsy My account was removed from Et**y because they stated that there was a violation of the trademark infringement, only the trademark the person filed was NOT a trademark when we created the item, and when we checked their trademark, it is pending and not active. Regardless, we didn't mind removing the items, but they suspeneded our store. I was told to try to appeal the case, but when I went to have them call me they never did. I wasn't sure what to address with a letter, and they also state that you can only appeal it if it's NOT infringement. Really need to get an account back active though, any ideas on how to do this? |

| Kajunrook | 12-04-2018 01:06 PM | Re: Just got suspended from Etsy Well I have been selling rings on Etsy for a year and I have them made in Hong Kong, no issues, so you must have done something to make them mad. |
| FlosMom | 06-16-2019 12:04 PM | Re: Just got suspended from Etsy I am so confused, what are all of these things you are talking about? Is there an ETSY guide like there is an ebay guide? |
| agent006140 | 06-21-2019 09:59 AM | Re: Just got suspended from Etsy Etsy is not affiliated with Ebay.
Etsy has formed deep link with Google search, and paid for such.
You can sell handmade items made by you or someone you employed,if it is handmade by someone else not affiliated with you,do not call it handmade.
You can sell vintage, antique and recent items .
some items are not allowed like porno,ivory-elephant,mammoth or hippo, antler, seal tooth, walrus tooth,,also burmese jade.
fill and ship your orders promptly and get positive feedback, all help |
