How does alibris fare with sales with Dvd sales. Is it worth joining is it like half .com as traffic wise??

Their fees are absolutely insane. Have you researched that?

Holy smokes, they charge more then Amazon on fees. They charge per item sold and 15% on final value fee. Plus the annual fee and to sign up cost $19.95 nonrefundable application fee.

They have amazing postal charges too

How in the world is anyone suppose to make money? Unless you can get any item at ridiculous price then your not gonna make any cash.

Alibris has high fees and very little traffic. Their listings end up on eBay, Half.com and other sites. I think Barnes & Noble is one of them. But sales are few and far between. Also, some buyers buy through them, meaning that you have to ship your items to their warehouse in Nevada, where they are inspected.

Lastly, your first payout MUST be via check sent to your address via US Mail. They do not allow direct deposit until they have verified your address by sending the check and seeing that you deposited it into your bank account.

Not so good for stealth.

Edited to add: Almost forgot. Check their current policy, but from what I remember, if the sale is made on a "partner" site, such as Half.com or Barnes & Noble, that 15% fee becomes a 20% fee.

Alibris Fees = 15% - 20% of each item sold PLUS they deduct 80 cents from the pre-set shipping charge PLUS $1 per item sold, or a $19.95 fee per month.

So, if you sell a DVD for $10, they add $2.99 in shipping charges, so that is $12.99. If it sells on THEIR site, you end up with $12.99 MINUS 15% MINUS $1 MINUS .80 or $9.69 - If it sells on a partner site, that drops to $9.19 - can you guess where most sales are made?
