Another "strategy" to get your auction site growing, is keep selling on EB, and let know your buyers that you have your own site to get discounts or stuff, not allowed by EB, but there are ways you know...

I am working on an auction site, selling to one specific category only. I have a tiny budget, but im giving it ago as nothing ventured, nothing gained. Im not technical in the slightest, so a friend is helping - but she is very slow lol.

I think as has been said many times before, dont sink into the project money you cannot afford to loose. Im starting very small and if it works out, it will be due to word of mouth and people wanting to get onboard to save the 10% fees ebay charge for selling.

To the OP, good luck and I would support your site also.
