Default What do you guys think of Yahoo Merchant Solutions?

I have been wanting to open up my own online store...What do you guys think of Yahoo Merchant Solutions? The lowest plan is $20 a month and they provide you with all the templates and everything....

Do you think that this is a good option for those of us that are not the best with HTML & FLASH or is there a better company?

My company's website uses it. I edit and revise it. HTML is easy to implement but the website is hard to edit otherwise. I can currently having problems deleting a link. But the templates it comes with sucks. If you don't know html your site will look very plain. It does, however allow you to upload your own template. I believe you have to upgrade to the $100 plan if you want to list items for sale on your site, and it will come with a shopping cart, $100 bonus in yahoo adwords I think.

Yahoo stores do work, but if you want to build up your company brand, it's probably better to build up your own store in the future.

Photopost use Yahoo stores, and they are very successfull, so could be a good option for you.

Yahoo Merchant Solutions is a total waste of time. They're ugly, hard to work with, are very limiting and cost so much.

I would recommend starting with your own shopping cart, like cs-cart.com and using cheap reliable hosting at godaddy.com. It'll take some time setting up, but it'll be well worth it when you're done. Yahoo stores... ehh.. makes me sick.

if your a begginner then i guess you should work with that for now, but you should start your own ebsite, its alot of work and time consuming like aspkin said, but its worth it in the long run and the money is better.

Thanks people........I am gonna try and do what aspkin said.....I'm gonna create my own site from scratch...Yahoo's seems pretty expensive and I don't think that they'll offer you good quality services unless you pay top a nice sum every month

yea, and they are also kind of cheap since most of them are located internationally, you can set your own price for your project or let people send you offers with their price.

when you sign up with elance, they will charge you $10.00 BUT they REFUND you the $10.00 in exactly a week, so its not a big deal.
Then you post your project on what exactly you need done or what you need help with, then once you have posted your project now all you do is sit back and watch all offers come rolling in and now all you have to do is pick one that best fits the work you need done.
goodluck
