I am looking to make a new website, is there any recommended web designers or websites That is good for the UK? Anyone had any good experience?

It depends on the type of website you want to make.. if an eCommerce website then you're looking for a shopping cart.. I like CS-Cart (Shopping Cart Software & Ecommerce Software Solutions by CS-Cart).

If a blog then you need Wordpress.. forum then vBulletin..

It all depends on what you want the website to do.

blog is cheap way to go, nearly free. You can get free building sites there are DIY and rather easy, if your taking the long route and your attempting to hire someone to build you a nice site, i mean its an investment but you got to have good ideas.

vbulletin the only thing you have to worry about is the one time license fee, which is more than a good deal over time.

im used to using cubecart but im building one with opencart at the moment, good and free, cant really justify the cost of cubecart anymore.

I'm using wordpress even for ecommerce sites using wooframework, its not free but very much easier and you'd love it if you are a big fan of wordpress.

Try vistaprint. It is easy, cheap and they have many good offers. It is a great starter for the novice.

definitely depends on what you want to do. aspkin recommended cs-cart to me and i am not building my website off of it. $300 one time fee is UNBEATABLE. has just about everything i need for my first e-commerce store. now to find a hosting solution...
