How to transfer a domain and keep the info private??

How do you transfer a domain but keep the whois info from turning public. Registrars say they want your public info revealed on the domain whois during transfer.

You should have an option to make your domain private. I use godaddy to do this, they're easy to use and trusted.

What would make one trust 1 domain from the next one?? I mean all they do is host right?

namecheap told me I have to unprivate my domain while it's being transfered to them. I'm worried someone will spot my real info on the site until the transfer is done.

That makes sense it needs to be not private for the switch. That sucks though. I guess as long as you don't have hordes of people looking for you, hunting you down, you really shouldn't have a problem the couple days it'll be available. It only takes 2-3 days, no?
