I would also add that you should get the google toolbar, (to see page rank and get seo benefit from your bookmarks) and the seo link and rank tools from seobook (those will allow you research backlinks)

for the google toolbar, click the google pack link on this page (1/2 way down the page)

and then just check the boxes for google toobar for IE and firefox.
