I wish i did, was looking into shopify recently, probably not the same thing but i know it can get you started selling on fb.

i'm testing out a campaign right now, seeing if it works. there has been some push back from people who complain that it isn't available for local pick up, but i am getting more traffic and generating some interest.

With shopify you have an online store and can also advertise on pinterist and twitter and no need for local pickup..

i had a shopify and it's notoriously hard to earn customer trust unless you are running adds on facebook hard. but that's just the Canadian market.

I use Facebook Buy/Sell Groups in my local area but what I have to sell is not up their alley.....so I have to say it really doesn't work for me. That being said, I do see a lot of people being successful with a lot of other stuff.

Facebook selling is crazy, I had some pet portraits that I had been selling on a painting a day type site that is excellent for selling artwork on. Gave FB a go and had responses from about half a dozen people from USA, sent me pictures of their pets, I did a few, not one of the FB people paid up so they didn't get their items! Seems like because of how far away they are and because it's Facebook people feel like it's scam central. I had been warned beforehand that there are some really weird people on FB, can't disagree with that.

Ive bought items on groups on facebook like 'facebay' which are all based on your local area.

It's great for buying, say you want to buy phones, cars clothes or whatever you can buy off there and sell on ebay, many people don't care about the money but just want their unused stuff put to good use. My company does about 40% of our business from fb groups, there are 100s of groups in my small city alone

Interesting Stephen, not something I had thought using as a resource for sellable items must admit. Will have to look into it, wasn't even aware there was so much stuff sold on FB to be honest.

If Facebook does things right.. they could compete with eBay in the future.

I've bought and sold on Facebook groups (locally only) and it's great. It's more of a hassle but for bit ticket items it's worth it.

I have not tried selling, but I have bought some things on there, Like the lady who had 500 children's books in great shape. She was asking $25, so I had someone pick them up. Children's books are usually better sellers than most books and the prices are a bit higher, so if I get the right deal, I can buy based on a picture. I just tell the person picking up that if they turn out to be in terrible shape to refuse the deal.
