Re: How to sell on your own website with a checkout cart

I'd recommend wordpress + woocommerce, been using wordpress 3+ years and it's opensource so you can get alot of things for free with good support. Great theme from theme forest or you can always look at nulled wordpress themes and pluggings (which are free), but you wont get the support.

Wordpress is what around 85% of sites are made on, and is very good for SEO and page ranking, but i think it does take some dedication / experience, I've looked at shopify and well if you can afford the price of say +40 a month and don't feel you're getting ripped off for that money i have seen some very good looking themes.

I use shopify platform because it accepts PayPal, credit card, and Amazon payments. Shopify is what Facebook stores do. Nice easy setup, but just like every other ecommerce site, advertising is key. I set up Facebook page and did a $50 campaign. I got 85 people "like" the page, got over 3,000 people to look at site, but got no sales.

Ebay and Amazon unfortunately have all the searches almost monopolized. Another site CAN be successful, but it takes a lot of advertising savvy.

All because you have to know in advance who will give website likes.

Know your buyers. Is it boys/girls 20-30 years old? Sity? Country? Their interests?

You have to setup campaigns more accurately(by country, sity, etc.) to get quality likes (then sales).
Establish a minimum cost-per-like/click

You will get traffic slowly but it will be quality social traffic. Perhaps now comes 300 people, but you will get sales :)
