Using foreign auction sites as an American

Hi, I hope someone here can help me out. I'm a US citizen based in the US and I'm interested in selling internationally on sites other than eBay. I know other markets have their own leading auction sites but does anyone know of any that allow US sellers to operate there relatively freely? That is, without having an address or bank account in that country, etc. They don't have to be in English, I'm familiar several other languages.

Thanks.

-J

You can log into other countries eBay accounts and list directly on them if you want so long as your eBay meets the requirement to sell on those sites.

for most of them you will need :
- ip from the country
- phone number from the country
-address inthe country

JamesNorth101: yes, but if I could use Ebay I wouldn't have found Aspkin.

Tooknapa: Thank you. I suspected that was the case for most sites but I was hoping some would allow Americans / other foreigners onto them in the same way eBay allows people from everywhere on eBay.com. But I suppose not.

You would need to look at building up a stealth account.

Using a US eBay and PayPal and build it upto to point that you can list on other countries eBays would be the simplest way to do things.

James, do you know what are some of the minimum requirements? 25 feedback? After so many sales? etc?

Have an eBay account in good standing

Have a PayPal account and be PayPal verified

Have at least 10 Feedback points earned as a seller

Have had your first successful sale more than 90 days ago

Meet the selling and item requirements of the site(s) where you want your listings to appear

If you were to try with anything less, do they ban your account?

No, your just limited to (I think!) 10 items per month until you do hit the criteria

I am familiar with eBay but I cannot / don't want to try with them again at this time. I was just wondering if there were any major non-eBay auction sites in foreign countries that would allow American sellers who aren't based in that country, however it appears not.

eBay pretty much dominates the markets.

There are others account, but they are much much smaller

I wish you well in your search for non-Ebay auction sites. I think such a thing is rarer than chickens teeth.

I guess you may find alternative action sites, but they will be neither use or ornament. The lack of traffic makes the going very, very hard.

Whichever way it is looked at . . . Ebay is the one. I may not be happy with this but seems I don't have any choice.
