Windows 10 stealth

with Microsoft ending support for Windows 10 soon are you planning on selling your Windows 10 laptops and just use Windows 11 for stealth or will you continue to use Windows 10? I may sell my Windows 10 HP soon. just curious

Re: Windows 10 stealth

I still use Windows 10 - an old laptop actually uses previous windows versions, just for stealth - seems to be fine without upgrade needed...for me anyhow

but when support for Windows 10 ends, you're still going to use it?

I'm on the fence. I think I still may sell my HP laptop

You can get another year of security updates for $30 and that will get you through to Oct 2026, and there is way to even get them for free with 1000 Microsoft Rewards points.

You can get the enough rewards points in 3 or 4 days and it's actually kind of fun getting them.

Just do some Google searching: Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for Windows 10

Sure - my few comps that are just for eb, etc do nothing else but selling, listing, browsing...

Just continue to use Win 10 on existing devices, it's still used by 45% of windows machines, use Win 11 on new devices/accounts, like every one else and you'll blend in with the crowd.

you need to observe the end of browser support , this is critical for everyone as after end of support browsers will stop working properly within a few months

That's a good point about browser support timelines. More likely years rather than months though. Win 7 reached EOL in Jan 2020, but Chrome still supported it until ver 109 in Jan 2023 and Firefox until ver 115 in July 2023.

But this would affect only the MS Edge browser right? Unless Chrome decides to upgrade and stop working for previous Windows versions...

this time the browser expiration times are likely to be shorter , much shorter. most likely we are talking 6-12 months

the reason is that safety risks are higher than with windows 7/8 back in the day

and browser expiration concerns all browsers because they will stop working properly , on ebay for example some buttons like withdrawal will stop working and eventually even logins will become impossible like right now old win7 browsers are widely blocked on both ebay and paypal for security reasons

Microsoft have stated they will support Edge on Win 10 until at least October 2028.

Re: Windows 10 stealth

by 2028 all these win10 browsers will be useless on most important sites

there are too many people using win10 so that risks of hacks will become too high , firefox is already displaying popups reminding to switch to win11

I finally found a way to expedite signing up for the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for Windows 10 that actually works and is free.

And yes, I now am signed up and have it on all my Windows 10 PC's.

What's better... MAC or Windows for stealth?

rsot 09-18-2025 08:15 AM

Re: Windows 10 stealth

I like Windows better for the ease of use and user accounts etc. Mac computers seem better for virus/ad control but more cumbersome for "multiple account on one comp" use - at least that's my view...perhaps Macs have come a long way and I haven't been on top of their changes...
