Hello! Just started selling on eBay. Here to find out how to increase limits ASAP.
 

Thank you for reading this, and sorry for the long post. In regards to increasing limits, I've checked out a few previous threads before posting here, so I'll keep searching through this site.


I'd also love if you could pitch me a few tips, and help me speculate as to why I was already rejected for increasing my limits. Here are some details:

• Account created over 1 year ago (non stealth).
• Remained completely inactive (buying and selling) until I logged back in and switched to a seller account last month. I'm not a registered business, but I created and used a new verified business PayPal account with my social security number (I also have a couple other verified business PayPal accounts for my websites, so they might have detected my history already). Was immediately given selling limit of 50/5000.
• Sold first item earlier this month.
• A couple weeks ago, it gave me 2 options to increase my limits: link to another seller account, or talk to them on the phone. I sat back and waited, since I hadn't sold to my limits yet.
• I then sold to my limits a couple days ago (it allowed me to sell slightly more than 50 items for some reason). Just under $500 in sales, 100% perfect feedback.
• I just tried to increase my limits, and I noticed it added "upgrade to a business account" as an option (along with the two others above). I choose the business acct. option, filled out the info and submitted, and was rejected. The email only said "Unfortunately, we couldn't increase your selling limits. Every month you can still list up to 50 items or USD 5000, whichever comes first. "
• After that, and right now, I'm still able to request higher limits. My options are: link to another seller account, talk to them on the phone, or "tell us more about your business" (slighty different than "upgrade to a business account", which I choose before).

I'm really hoping to get my limits up to 300-500 items ASAP. I'm looking to put a lot of work into this account and profit $1-2k per month ($5-10k sales, I estimate).

Based on what I've read, calling them is too sketchy because of the way I dropship my items (not illegal though, and you can probably guess it since I think a lot of people do it too), so I was wondering if anyone can recommend what they would do in my scenario.

Next month, I plan to keep selling the same ~$10 items, while additionally listing a few others for ~$1000 to reach my $5k dollar limit (even though they won't sell). But, I have yet to list anything over $60. Is this the right approach for my case, or too risky?

Your options are either

1 - Phone them

2 - Wait for natural limit increase to come

Getting a 50 item account to 300-500 items will take a few months in all likely hood. eBay rarely increase limits by more than 100% over the phone

Welcome to the forums friend.
Calling them could indeed result in trouble since you were already rejected by the automated system - which is now recorded on your account's history.
The approach youre using is wrong. Never rush thing when it comes to stealth and never think in those terms - 'need to up my limits ASAP'. It always ends poorly.
Instead open a few more accounts and spread your sales (AND your risk across multiple accounts). Just imagine managing to up those limits as you are trying o only to get the account suspended for whatever reason - youre back to square one. With multiple accounts youll grow all of them at the same time and minimize the risk of something like that happening.

Welcome. Its best to have multiple accounts to circumvent the account limits.

Wouldn't eBay disapprove of creating a second account simply to circumvent the limits? I've read about being able to create a second account, but it says you can't do this I believe.

You have to create other accounts using ALL NEW INFO - no linking - that's a principle of stealth.

Don't forget what forum your on....Stealth Forum....most of us have not had a real account in a long time, were all about having a lot of accounts!

I should have been more clear -- I was referring to normal, non-stealth accounts.

You cannot have 2 non stealth accounts in all your real details without the risk of limitation
