Hello from Akron, Ohio!

Hi,

I felt glad I found this forum. Thank you.
I lost my Ebay account in 2012 due to being too generous. I gave my "top rated seller with 100% feedback" Ebay account info to a best friend because he wants to list some books to sell before he left the U.S. to go back to his home country. He evidently used my account and his account to do shill bid to achieve high price for his sales. Now I know I was very very stupid!

I just called Ebay recently with the hope the will lift the ban but they refused :)
So I am seriously thinking about creating stealth accounts. I will probably buy the book - newest version.

BTW, I searched for coupons to buy the other day and was so surprised that many sellers are selling hundreds of electronic coupons every day (in the coupons Category). I looked at the listing revisions and see that they revised the quantity very often, usually 5-10 times a day. I keep thinking how they can do that while the limit of 25 coupons/$100 sales is in place.

Does the book teach me how to do that?

Any idea is greatly appreciated!

Lynn

The limit you mentioned is a category limit. Category limits are raised or even eliminated once a seller has proven themselves with a good track record of selling in the category.

Good luck, Lynn.

Thank you for your reply.
From what I researched and read about the coupon policy, I think that the limit is applicable to everyone and it is permanent for the category, which cannot be eliminated or increased. Please fix me if I am wrong. Thank you.

Sorry, I assumed you were referring to some kind of gift cards after reading your post the first time. I see the hard limits you're talking about now that you've clarified and I've researched. Doesn't look like there's any way to get around those limits on a single account. Have you considered that the tons of listing revisions you're seeing could be a seller modifying the quantity on multiple coupon listings in order to keep as many listings active at the same time while dealing with eBay's hard 25 coupon per month limit? That's the most logical explanation I can think of. I've had to do that plenty of times on accounts with low selling limits, just not with coupons. I'll change around the quantity on all of my "buy it now" listings every day so I can keep all of my listings active and selling for as long as possible each month.

From what I can tell you're going to need multiple accounts selling in order to get around the limit.

I am sorry that I was not clear enough. I was talking about a single listing from a single account. If you go to this ebay listing, you will see what I mean:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/FIVE-Lowes-...wAAOSwWdZZYPzK

and if you scroll down and click on the link "View all revisions", you will see how often they have changed the quantity of that listing.

Wow. I don't even have to look at the revisions to see he's sold 149 in 24 hours.

Maybe he's bypassing filters by saying "OFFCoupon" and "INSTANTCoupons" instead of "Coupons" by itself. It's not a very aged account so this guy is nothing special..

That is why I don't understand. In my opinion, he cannot bypass filters because he was listing in the Coupon Category. If he can list in that category, how come he was not restricted by the limit of 25 coupons per month. I would think this guys must have the ability to hack into Ebay system somehow. Do you think so?

I really don't think the guy is any kind of hacker. It's much more likely he's discovered a loophole and is exploiting it. I can't think of any other reason why he/she would bundle words together in the title like that. Maybe the category restriction isn't applied if you don't put the word "coupon" by itself in the title. Have you tried to replicate what this guy is doing?

I apologize on behalf of my fellow forum members for the generic responses. The sellers always introduce themselves in introduction threads hoping to get business.

Welcome to the forum friend.
You are in a place which reminds me of my "teen" music world.

Buona fortuna!

I have tried to replicate what this guy is doing but nothing works. I have tried to change the words in many other ways too (both in title and descriptions) but as long as it falls into category "coupons" then I get a flag of limit 25 coupons per month :(

Rest assured that if this guy could hack into their system, he wouldn't be selling $5 coupons!
