New member - star trashed Brit!
 

Hi there, I came upon this forum by accident some time ago.

I dont have a suspended account - although I may have soon! Not because I did anything to break the rules. Far from it. I have a solid selling account with over 3000 fb and about 10 solid buying accounts - some in the high hundreds.

Well Ive been a victim of the infamous DSRs which are so unfair to us smaller sellers. I sell 95% international out of the UK, mostly to the USA. My shipping charges are fair and if I went to free shipping and included international signed for in my base price I would not be competetive on the US site where I sell.

Ebay pushing this free shipping has really made it bad for a lot of UK sellers. Their DSRs for shipping get trashed and as you all know this can put you out of business. Mine got trashed recently by 2 nasty buyers so now I am currently hovering around a 4.48 for shipping - but 4.8/9 on all the others!

I am a disabled senior and depend on eBay for a substantial part of my income so this really sucks for me. I bent over backwards to help the two people who trashed my stars. I wrote to them to tell that what harm they had done me. One felt really bad, the other just sent an abusive message. She'd done the same to other sellers.

I used to enjoy selling on eBay back in the early 2000s when I began but not any more. I opened my own webby about 9 months ago and several months its outperformed what I make on eBay, Im also looking at other platforms.

This is what I think. Ebay has become corrupt and rotten to the core and provides no incentive to anyone to do otherwise than attempt to get around their draconian and unfair rules.

I have to agree with you on this one. You should keep marketing your website so you don't even have to put up with ebay. I think you will be alright with your DSR's...I have seen A LOT worse and they are still one ebay.

Well I have just done something I would never reccommend normally. I emailed all my customers with outstanding fb, explained the situation, and asked them to leave me 5 star fb, or to get in touch if they were not happy with their item. That was yesterday - and so far 5 buyers have come through for me! I really need to work things so that I get about 20-30 good DSRs to get me out of this currect hole and about 10 weekly thereafter.

I am sure there are alternatives ;)

I saw a site yesterday which I think was possibly set up to email all the buyers that haven't left you feedback yet to get your DSR up .. just can't remember the link but I'm sure someone here knows it
