PayPal permanently banned for no reason triggered my account here
 

I'm hoping I can get some help with my issues. I created a new thread on the PayPal limited forum but my thread isn't showing up.

Basically, after 10+ years selling on eBay, PayPal limited my real account and they won't tell me why. I have $30k locked in there and at this point I just want to get the money out but I don't know how to do that. All I did was sell cheap no name brand clothing.

Typically the policy is to hold the funds in your Paypal account for 180 days and then let you withdraw to your attached bank account. There has been members here in the past with huge sums locked up in a limited account like you, and some of them have said they've been able to get Paypal to release a portion of the money before 6 months is up.

For that amount id contact a lawyer (assuming the account is not a stealth one).

The good thing is that it's your real account and not a stealth one.

I would do my best to harass customer services to find out why you were banned and how you can appeal.

You should definitely be able to withdraw that money after 180 days.

Thank you all for your responses.

On my fourth attempt, a customer service rep (through their chat) told me that to get more information about why this happened, all I can do is get a lawyer to subpoena documents from their legal department by sending a certified letter. He also told me that he can see the reason why it was limited but nobody but the legal department can tell me, and not until after they get the subpoena.

I wouldn't even know where to start to get any of that done without destroying the very little money I have left in my wallet. This is so unbelievably stressful.

If getting a lawyer is the only option so be it. Even if takes 10k of that locked money you will still get 20k out. So do it.

you said you have been on Ebay for ten years,do you have any clue why Paypal limited your account?
Do you have past account which owe Paypal money?

How did you manage to leave $30k in there?
Is this a stealth account?

Besides selling unbranded clothing, isn't there anything else you can think of that could have caused this limitation?

Knowing why they suspended your account isn't a justifiable reason to spend triple digits on a lawyer.
I'd only involve a lawyer just to get some of that money out before the 180 days, but then you'd have to have stealth accounts to keep you going.

Would you help me withdraw funds through PayPal, mine as being permanently suspended and I’m flag off high rise volume

if it takes a lawyer to make Paypal tell you why your account is limited,there must be reason why and only you know.
It is not for selling no name brand clothing,it could be your account is linked to another account which owes PAYPAL money,or you have used your account for conducting business which is in violation of Paypal policy.
People on this forum often wonder why anyone keeps such large sum of money in their paypal account,well,not everyone has bank account or want their fund to be transferred to their bank account for various reasons.
if it is a legit USA account ,you can apply for a Paypal debit card which costs you a fee each month and sweep that money into that card,the money is kept at Bankcorp bank and you can move it back and forth between your card and your Paypal ccount.
To apply for this card,you need your SSN,residential address and DOB
