can you file paypal claim on closed account?
 

this is my first post, so i will introduce myself and ask my question in one post.

im about to close my paypal account, i have a positive balance and no claims against me. im wondering if someone files a claim after i close my account what will happen?

will paypal allow a claim to be filed? can/will they take the money out of my bank account if i dont respond?

Any reason why you want to close the paypal account? If it is just because you are not going to use it in the future, then I would suggest you simply close the bank account & remove it from paypal. This all depends on everything being OK:ranger:

i dont think you can close a paypal account. But you can close the bank account and delete the credit card on file. The claim will still go against the account, but if theres no bank account or CC linked you dont have to worry about anything.

Yes you can close a paypal account, but why would you. Sounds weird.

How do you close a paypal account? Do you have to call them and they have to do it or is there a place where you can hit "Delete account"?

You click profile, then you click "Close Account"

Wow, I learned something new today. What if you have bank accounts and credit cards on file? Do they automatically get deleted and not charged?

For example, if i choose to abandon an account and not pay my fees, can I just close the account?

:D I'm not to sure about that, I've never closed a paypal account. I doubt paypal forgets your bank info and credit card info when you close the account.
