Hi, thanks for all the info made available! It took ebay almost a year to link my accounts and ban me, everything was fine until I got a new computer and when I tried to open my ebay account that I was using it recovered my old account instead, that's when I got the boot ��
I got a permanent restriction on my first account but thought it was all good when I was able to open a new account (I didn't bother to read the entire policy).
I literally cried when I called ebay to unblock my account and they said I'll never be allowed to sell on ebay again.
They actually messaged me saying I could resolve the issue, I guess that was their way of having me han myself when I called in.
Anyway sorry for the long intro...

congratulations. You can try to communicate with them multiple times, or use the information of friends and relatives to open a seller account, but you need to be careful to prevent them from being associated

I have bought and read the eBay Stealth book and have been doing lots of reading on the different threads here. I've gained some understanding but am still worried I will do the wrong thing...
My bf (who has never had an eBay account) is going to let me use his info create a new one I can use, I just want to be extra cautious.
I completely formatted and reinstalled windows 11 on the new computer that I had accidentally opened my old restricted account on right before logging into the account I had been selling with for almost a year.
Anyway, after formatting the pc, he set it up with only his name and email.
The things I'm unsure of is
*do I still need to change my ip address? I was going to purchase the residential ip through ipburger.com
*could I just replace my modem instead? I have a Netgear wifi cable modem router and use Xfinity
*it's my understanding that if I change my ip address that I should not also use a VPN, is this correct?
I only need the one eBay account but would like to open a store as I did with the old accounts that are permanently restricted.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, I don't mean to be redundant

You don't need a VPN with your IP options - with your Xfinity IP connection, does it change everytime you reset the connection? If so, that's dynamic IP and a good source
