I’m not sure if it’s still a thing. But there used be a site called spoofcard I believe that did this. You could call people and the number would show up as there friends and family. I used to work as a collections manager for a rental store and I’d call people as their “mom” to get them to answer the phone. It always worked. It costs money tough, it was free. You would call a number and the number would call the person with caller ID displaying different for the person receiving the call.

This was 10 years ago though

Spoofcard still exists. The problem with it is that many places will want to call you back on the number you called from to verify you really control it, because they know about spoofing.

I got overconfident and lost a friend of mine his eBay account a few years ago that way. :(
