Old timer here, been selling since the days of Z shops and Yahoo Auctions
Hi everyone!
I've been a member here for a long time but have been MIA for a while.
I have been doing ecommerce since 1999, when Amazon had Z shops and Yahoo Auctions was poppin. I was very young when I started, 10 years old. By the time I was in my early 20s I was pulling in 7 figures.
Amazon was the main source of my business, unfortunately. I couldn't seem to get my DTC site to bring in sales like Amazon. I was also selling on other 3rd party marketplaces but none gave me the sales Amazon did.
I have plenty of business experience and experience with all sorts of ecom channels. Etsy, Walmart, Amazon, eBay, and now even TikTok (which I'm still learning).
Amazon suspended me, and I lost the business. I had about 50 employees at one point. Everyone lost their jobs, I went into a ton of debt.
Recently I got a job working for a major designer clothing company running their Amazon business for them, left there now I am managing multiple Amazon/eBay/Walmart/Newegg/ect accounts for a company.
But I still want to bring back my old business. I was selling electronics, particularly in the video game category.
I just started a new eBay account which I am trying to grow. I dream of someday being able to create an Amazon account of my own. I sell on TikTok as well, they've been fantastic. No seller fees either!
