3 months on Ebay and already suspended!
 

Hi- and thanks for being such a great resource... I wish I had found you first! Here is my situation.... I joined Ebay about 3 months ago and made a few small purchases. About a week ago, my husband and I took part in a clean out of an old office, and came away (totally legit) with a bunch of laser printer toner. We decided to put it up on Ebay, and I added a Seller component to my account, and used my paypal address for payments on the Ebay account.

All of the toner was purchased within an hour of being listed, and everyone paid immediately-- but there is a 21 day hold on the payments on Paypal. I went ahead and shipped everything on Thursday (the day after all payments were made) and most the items were received by the Buyers on Friday afternoon, with one arriving today. Friday morning, however, I received a notice from Ebay that my account was suspended as it was linked with another suspended account. I have never had an Ebay account nor has my husband. I've contacted Ebay, but haven't been able to get anywhere.

The Paypal account is still active, but I have $1400 on hold. All of the items have been delivered. Per paypal, their policy says they will release the 21 day hold once positive feedback is left or 3 days after delivery.

1) Is Paypal going to see that the ebay account is suspended and withhold the funds from me?

2) As 3 days are up since the first items were delivered, should I call Paypal and see about getting the funds released, or wait until 3 days from the last item delivery (this Thursday) and try to get all of the money released at once?

3) According to the paypal website, the estimated date for funds availablilty on 3 of the shipments was yesterday, but the funds are still not showing as "available". Will this automatically update or do I need to call about getting the money released? Will paypal send me an email or anything with the money is released if it happens automatically?

Welcome to the forums. I hear your dilemma.

I will try to provide some simplistic answers. Keep in mind NOTHING is 100% in the world of pp/eb...

1. PP will see that the eb is suspended. Will they withhold the funds? I know folx who have eb suspended but pp is fine and get their money. My main worry for you is that..IS YOUR OLD PP ACCOUNT WITH THE LINKED OLD EB ACCOUNT SUSPENDED? If so...your chances of being limited are much higher.

2. I would wait patiently - don't spark their attention to your account.

3. I cannot say 100% on this topic. Sometimes it's automatic, sometimes not. Let all your packages arrive then call them up and you will have some grounds to defend release of funds.

funds availability is running way behind. ive had stuff still on hold 2 days past the date. dont sweat it, and be patient

Thanks for the positive thoughts... Since I have never had an ebay or paypal account before, I am just concerned about this whole "linked account" thing.... I'll hold off on calling paypal about the funds until after the available date and cross my fingers they paypal account doesn't get limited!

this is good to hear, i've got 1 account that is going past the avail date with no funds released. Even got a positive feedback on the transaction already.

I know it hurts waiting for your own money, but give it a couple of days and see what happens. If by then, money is still unavailable, I would contact them and ask for more info. Be prepared with proof of delivery and other docs if required.
My sincere advice is to go stealth should you wish to continue in this lovely game :typing:
