If you dont mind my asking GTran, even with the 50-60% expected live rate - what will you do with so many lambs? I realize you don't slaughter them (unless I am wrong) but for commercial purposes, what will be done? Fleece?

They go for sale to the local mart and they are auctioned. Price depends on conformity and weight - last year we averaged £44. 29p per lamb.

They go from their to a slaughterer/processor (about 20 miles away) where they are killed, butchered and packed for the supermarkets

Same with the cattle

Eggs go to Tesco as Welsh Free Range Eggs

Horses, dogs, cats and GDs guinea pigs all stay here with me.

(Coronation Chicken followed by Home Made Bakewell and custard tonight)

Ah you sell off the livestock - good. Seems kind of a low price per lamb no? For the amount you put into them? Or does it turn out well for profit.

It's a numbers game Lumberjack - top price was nearly £70 but was very low mid season. I would rather we got rid of the sheep but its in his blood - he loves em - I've just bottle fed all those orphans and I've got it to do again at 10.00pm. Luckily we have cows with calves at foot so we can pinch their milk
