I am new to the ebay stealth but I do have an Amazon Ghost acct and yes, I have been suspended from ebay a few years ago. I am lucky that a friend just offered to give me her ebay acct. It is well established with high selling limits and a powerseller acct.

I cant open a paypal acct because of my suspension. I want to keep her name on the ebay acct but the problem is with paypal. she doesnt want me to continue using her paypal. I would need a new one.

Question: I would like to open a Merchant Plus acct to replace Paypal. When I am asked to fax in my Merchant Plus account statement will they not see the name is different than the Ebay account?

I wouldn't use her account at all. I would go totally stealth. There are simply too many things that can go wrong when doing business on eBay. It could end up costing you a friendship.

Maybe if she will allow you to list items for a short time AND use her PayPal just until you can get a couple of stealths going?

You have to remember that eBay and PayPal are the SAME company. Also, eBay does NOT allow the transfer of accounts without their permission. Yes, I know that eBay and PayPal CLAIM to be separate companies, but that is only when it suits them.

I have a retail store with lots of items to list. I do have a small stealth account. Still limited to 10 items per month that I am trying to be patient with.

Even with that account I would like to use the Merchant Plus and eventually my own online store.

Can ebay link the merchant account in my name/personal info with the name on her ebay acct. She is retiring. (70 yrs old) doesnt want to mess with ebay anymore.

Can't say I agree with using someone else's account. What are you going to do if it goes down?

Yes you can.....it's called Stealth.

If you start making new Paypal your just going to make things worse.

Would she be OK with you converting her PayPal account to a business account and attaching your own business EIN? That way YOU are responsible for the taxes and she has nothing to do with the income as far as the IRS is concerned. It also avoids any linking issues.

The IRS and income is the problem. Would I file for a DBA/and get EIN # in my name? Will Paypal match EIN and my SS together or is the account past that step already? she has had it since 2004.

From my understanding, Paypal can only see EIN and DBA and not the person behind this EIN...

and as far as IRS all they care about is their share...You have to pay file taxes on EIN.

Make your own and be responsible for your own taxes.

If you do this, you would need to obtain an EIN for a corporation or an LLC. LLC's are usually easier. That way, the IRS would match the BUSINESS NAME with the EIN. If you go the DBA route, they would match YOUR NAME with the EIN.
