I had a 15 year old Ebay account with over $200,000.00 in sales and made a mistake one day cancelling a large group of transactions. These were purchases for a digital good and made by someone I suspected of having a hijacked account.

However, I selected the new "out of stock" option instead of the "problem with buyer's address" option. This created a defect on my seller dashboard for each of the cancelled transactions. I spent probably 15 hours during the month of January trying to get the defects removed without success.

Then yesterday, my Ebay store was closed and my account was restricted to zero items per month. No customer was harmed, no customer ever complained. I relied on this store to support my family.

That was definately a tough result for you Kelsey, you certainly have a wealth of experience that you can share with us as well, so we have as much to gain from you probably as you have to gain from our experiences.

I know the feeling...I had a similar sized account and situation...and remember the harsh winter in Europe is 2011?...a lot of my parcels got delayed in the snow at home and in Europe. some customers were understanding, but others weren't and lodged compalants, and shortly afterwards my account was toast.

I can only advise that all ebay selling accounts are doomed eventually becuase problems never happen uniformly spread out over the year, they tend to come in fits and starts, ebay destroy people's livelihoods not based on human decisions, but robots checking your defect score sheet.

What I advise is always to have back up accounts, I create one or 2 every few months beside my main one, and just sell a few items on these as personal accounts ready for back up in case of the almost inevitable closure of your account
