Greetz from London, UK (Ebay/Amazon Arbitrage)

Hello everybody and greeting from London, UK!

I have come across this forum a few times in the past week or so and decided it was time to register and stop lurking. Here's a quick intro to say hi and tell you a little about what I am involved in.

Professionally, I work as a software engineer working on various components, but mainly mobile at the moment. Lately my job has really started to suck so i've been busy looking for other things to keep me interested/motivated.

Having investigated various forms of arbitrage before, I have just come across Ebay/Amazon Dropshipping. I plan on giving this a go as I can see there is potential upside. How much potential i'm not sure yet but i'll learn something new in the process so all good.

Over the past number of weeks I have been developing my own tools to help me in my dropshipping activities. I have build everything from ASIN grabbers to tools to find items to sell, Amazon listing grabber and the all important eBay auction repricer.

As my launch becomes closer aI have been looking into the Ebay/PayPal business side of things, which has led me to this forum. I don't think I want to risk my personal account so i'm going to create some simple stealth accounts for the moment and see how things go. Once I am happy I will probably set up a company (LLC).

That's it from me for now.. I guess i'll see you on the forums :)

Cheers

Welcome to the forum :)

Bare in mind that a lot of people have in the past come undone doing exactly what your planning on doing. eBay and PayPal are not really a fan of drop shipping and if items come in Amazon boxes customers will sometimes complain to eBay/PayPal

Oh that sucks, what do you mean "undone"? and what were the consequences?

Well, is there any way around this and at what point did they get in trouble?

I'm sure Amazon won't really be an issue as I don't plan to use Prime. I plan on only selling items that have free delivery i.e. price over £20.

I'm wondering about a scenario where I get into conflict with eBay. I'm going to be reading all there documentation, terms and conditions etc and see what comes up. See where I stand.

I was thinking that if any queries come my way then I could say that I source items from Asia and have a storage container on the west coast of the UK.

I will say that from time to time there is mismanagement of inventory and errors occur. If buyer orders an Item that I do not have in stock then I will order from Amazon and ship directly to provide best customer experience.

Would something like that work?

Do you know anybody that has been stung doing this kind of thing, who I could speak with? You can PM me if you like.

Cheers.

Dropshipping - 1st step is to avoid using the same pp for buying and selling.

Oh ok, that's what I figured but it's easy for me.

Amazon don't accept PayPal :)

Re: Greetz from London, UK (Ebay/Amazon Arbitrage)

Hi everyone,

I have been doing the Amazon / eBay arbitrage with limited success. PayPal are a nightmare as they are putting my payments into pending. If I want them released quicker than the 21 days I have to upload tracking info, which sometimes is not possible as Amazon in the UK use their own delivery called Amazon Logistics and the package can only be tracked from inside your amazon account, does anybody know a way around this?

Waiting 21 days is not the end of the world but what is a real worrier is if there is ever a claim and I have to provide tracking to avoid my money be taken how can I if Amazon Logistics delivered it.
