Interesting, which scripts would you say have to be running and how do those scripts reveal your IP if running a VPN.

So long as you use the right settings its easy to prevent your IP from leaking

Exactly.

I think OP is confusing being tracked by browser fingerprinting with leaking an IP address.

Your browser gives away a lot of information on you.. your geolocation is one of these things. It's not a problem for MOST people (yet).

The premise of stealth is (IMO) a) avoiding linking accounts, and b) learning how to avoid getting them suspended, i.e. dont list risky products etc.

Technically speaking, they do mask your location. If setup correctly.

Scripts always have to be enabled if you do want to use that website

Ideally, if you want to prevent a leak, you want to be disabling scripts (if you get carried away with this, you end up having web pages that dont load properly).

Conclusion - I don't know what point you were making as everything you mentioned in the space of a few sentences was incorrect.

The issue with disabling Java is so many people disable Java that you stick out like a sore thumb if you do. There are other better ways to prevent Java leaking an IP

Disabling flash though is a very good idea though
